'She may have been a woman, but in her policies she showed no compassion to the sick, needy and the desperate.'

Saying that as though men can't show compassion to the sick, needy and desperate is a bit shit though isn't it?

Yawn. Prescott is an obnoxious oik with a massive French fry on his bitter shoulder. He sold out years ago.

Yes, that wasn't so great, but hey, it's John Prescott Grin. I really like the rest though.

I like it. Passionate and right about much of it.

I love John Prescott. He's like a walking version of Politics for Dummies. In Prescott world everything is in black and white and utterly clueless.

mateinthree · 14/04/2013 20:27

Didn't bother reading all of it because the bits I glanced out were the obvious hypocritical bollocks as I expected, but just a couple of examples...

Under Thatcher, inequality increased

Inequality was at an all time high by the time Prescott's government were voted out of power.

Manufacturing collapsed under her strategy of deindustrialisation

More manufacturing was lost under new Labour than ever was under the previous conservative government.

The man really is a turd, let's not forget he was maxing out his food expenses then cried bulimia when pulled up on it, and cast scorn on titles and the house or lords while in government, then jumped at the chance of a peerage when he quit as MP.

He comes across as really rather unworldly, and a bit simplistic. He and his son (with the Hull-based property empire) have certainly made much out of little talent or intelligence. His first comment is so sexist, it makes me uncomfortable seeing it printed in a national newspaper. Substitute the word "woman" with "white" or "black"...

Not someone I'd consider a role model of any sort.

Utterly vile waste of space. Ignorant chancer who sullied the offices of state he occupied. Should have remained a ship steward or whatever he was,but Blair had to have someone who looked traditional working class in his government. Thick and graceless and such an embarrassment to Britain when he was in office.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 14/04/2013 21:01

I like it. And I like Prescott, too.
