To be disappointed that I can't order breastmilk cuff links?

I was browsing this website for breastmilk keepsakes and was so excited to see breastmilk cuff links on the homepage (2nd from the left in the line-up). Perfect present for DH for Father's Day! Sadly they only do pendants, charms and bangles. AIBU to be gutted?

have you emailed them and asked?

youmaycallmeSSP · 13/04/2013 19:31

No. Worth a try though!

Ask Claire who runs the website - she'll probably give it a go Grin

peggyblackett · 13/04/2013 19:50

PMSL at baba ganoush as far as the eye can see. Ditto, I have BF 3 dcs with full support from my DH, and a nice line in lentil weaving, but I can't see him sporting BM cufflinks somehow :)

youmaycallmeSSP · 13/04/2013 19:53

Oh. I just asked and he doesn't want them :( I thought a pair in silver with footprints on a blue background would be lovely! Interesting talking point too.

TBH I did do a Confused face when I first came across the website but now I want one!

How bizarre and odd.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 13/04/2013 19:55

OMG!

They are pretty though...what a...novel idea.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 13/04/2013 19:56

Will they be offering formula keepsakes too? If not, I will complain. I FF and want a frigging keepsake.

2kidsintow · 13/04/2013 19:56

They have cuff links in the pics along the bottom.

Too amusing

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 13/04/2013 19:58

Having read about the makers' "process" I am more than slightly sceptical.

She says her method is secret...and she won't say how the milk is turned into "beads" and embedded in resin but safe to say I am more than slightly suspicious, she could dump the bag of BM and then just shove any old thing in the pendant! It only needs to be BM coloured!

youmaycallmeSSP · 13/04/2013 19:59

:o

They are charms in the photo, not cuff links. I thought the one second-right was a belly bar too. Must go to Specsavers...

What about a pair of cufflinks with your DCs finger imprints on them? A few websites do them if you Google. I got my DH a pair for his first Father's Day Smile

youmaycallmeSSP · 13/04/2013 20:01

Maybe I could add food colouring to mine and check a sample against the finished product?

OP posts:
ENSMUM · 13/04/2013 20:01

How odd! Really can't believe many people would want this?!

noblegiraffe · 13/04/2013 20:01

Why would he want your bodily fluids in a trinket for Father's Day?

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 13/04/2013 20:02

Do people really believe it IS breastmilk in those things??

youmaycallmeSSP · 13/04/2013 20:02

I saw those LittleNutTree. I like those too. I'm secretly hankering after a Pandora bracelet so I can get the handprint and breastmilk charms Blush

JambalayaCodfishPie · 13/04/2013 20:03

neo My first thought was that it was faked. Secret method?! Grin

Smartiepants79 · 13/04/2013 20:03

I thought I'd seen everything...!
My husband would think this was gross, and he is very pro breast feeding.
I cannot understand why anyone would want to preserve their bodily fluids!

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 13/04/2013 20:04

Secret method my tit! she's probably dumping the bags of hazardous bodily fluids in the bin as they arrive and then using some sort of plastic.
