Son of Abraham - so therefore in the Bible?!

Documentary about Isaac Newton spelt Issac in the TV guide?

My Isaac coming home from pre-school years ago with his name on the back of paintings spelt Isacc, Issac, Isaak, Isik, Isac.

Even his bloody teachers can't spell it?!

I mean REALLY?!

That's all - I needed to rant - and breathe :)

My daughter is called Phoebe, and we've had Pheobe or Feebie or Phoebie.

Also me and both my sisters have the same middle name spelt a different way, Jayne, Jane and Jaine.

my children's names arent always pelled correctly either. i thought id chosen normal classic but not popular names.

I am not religious but I love the story of Isaac - where Sarah his mum was told by God she would have a baby and because she was in her forties she laughed and didn't believe him and when he was born she named him Isaac (meaning laughter). My Isaac was born after I nearly died so it was quite apt.

Ha yes!!!!!!!! I have an Isaac! My other son's teacher in his English book corrected the correct/standard spelling to Issac, when he was writing about his little brother. Everyone gets it wrong! Mind you this teacher is illiterate!!!

Gossipmonster · 12/04/2013 23:09

How can they expect the kids to spell their own names if they can't Hmm.

Isaac seems fairly normal. We have had Johnathan/Jonathon etc though for Jonathan (which is by far the most common spelling) and don't get me started on Ferguson. You would think it was common enough what with Alex Ferguson and Sarah Ferguson. But no, we get "Is that F U R G E R...."? etc....

I've got an "eyezakk", people never spell it right pisses me right off. We wanted to be different innit?

I have no son

My friend has had multiple spellings of Isaac for her ds. The worst offender is her SIL. The child's own aunt can't be bothered to spell his name correctly! It's not hard. Drives my friend barmy.

My aunt used to do this. I blame my mum for inventing the spelling of my name but one way to get your point across is to always spell auntie's name wrong.
