AIBU to expect bt (they're not worthy of caps, in my opinion!) to have upgraded their cables/wires & speeds by now, after 20-30 years of privatisation or are their share-holders* more important?

*my oppolgies to MNers who own bt shares.

The UK has some of the fastest broadband speeds in Europe and the most widespread fibre network, IIRC.

But no, it's probably capitalism and Thatcher which is to blame for you living in a rural area.

So are you using fibre? Which provider are you going with? What's your download speed?

I live in a semi-rural town and we have super-fast fibre optic broadband. I'm really impressed with the speeds - do you have Infinity available?

I've got the super fast fibre optic broadband. It is mainly great but does drop out occasionally which is damn annoying if you're gaming.

Do you need a wifi booster perhaps?

How far is your pc from the router?
Is it a wireless router?

You may get better speed if you get an ethernet cable running directly from hub to pc
