Shaving legs in communal showers

trinity0097 · 05/04/2013 17:42

At the pool this morning a lady was shaving her legs in the poolside showers. Am I being unreasonable to think that you don't shave legs in communal open showers (there are private showers elsewhere in the changing rooms)?

That is properly disgusting and would make me want to vom. But I am super queasy about things like that and possibly slightly OCD

crashdoll · 05/04/2013 17:43

Ewwww, YANBU!

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2013 17:44

YANBU. Usually there are signs up saying not to do it. Bleurgh.

loopyluna · 05/04/2013 18:03

Yadnbu, that's really unpleasant and what if she cuts herself? Not v hygienic either. Yuck!

MrsMorton · 05/04/2013 18:07

But really... why is it disgusting? The water just goes straight down the drain? I wouldn't shave my legs in there but I wash my hair and the bits acres of hair that fall out when I wash go down the drain too.

Eskino · 05/04/2013 18:13

I wash my fanny in the communial showers. Armpits too!

trinity0097 · 05/04/2013 18:23

Hair doesn't always go down the drain. I have to walk around stray hairs to get to the pool!

Eww.....that's minging

CloudsAndTrees · 05/04/2013 18:30

I shave my legs in the private showers at the gym. I wouldn't do it in open showers, but I can't see what's so minging about it.

RatPants · 05/04/2013 18:30

It's the blood thing that would get me rather than the hair. Eww.

specialsubject · 05/04/2013 18:31

blood, and taking too long. Doesn't she have a bathroom at home, we ask?

Smellslikecatspee · 05/04/2013 18:32

That's gross

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2013 18:39

YY to the hairs not going down the plughole. Sad Bleurgh. There is no need to shave your legs at the pool. Go home and do it.

Happy247 · 05/04/2013 18:39

There was a swimming teacher/lifeguard that used to do this...but she would also do her fanjo too!!!! Shock

Havingkitties · 05/04/2013 18:44

I know its a but ick, but maybe something was up with her shower at home and she had to temporarily use the pool showers? There's nothing worse than shaving your legs over the sink at home, if that's the alternative. It rips your legs to shreds and gives you those horrid red bumpy bits.

Though I probably would of gone at bit urgh at it...imagine if you got home and all her hairy bits were stuck to your feet from the shower? (along with all the verrucas and old plasters that you pick up from pool floors).

Bananaketchup · 05/04/2013 18:50

At my gym a sign has appeared asking people not to shave in the steam room or sauna. My mind boggles that that was necessary but apparently it was.

trinity0097 · 05/04/2013 18:51

I've seen her do it before, after the shampoo before the shower gel!

Lifeguards don't do anything if they even notice!

Bartlebee · 05/04/2013 18:52

It's just not the done thing. It's bad manners.

A woman at my gym used to shave her legs in the steam room and flick shavings onto the floor! A few people complained; she doesn't do it anymore.

GrowSomeCress · 05/04/2013 18:53

YANBU that's a bit gross!

notallytuts · 05/04/2013 19:14

I wouldn't care Confused I'm sure there's nastier stuff on the floor that you can't see, germs and the like, than the few hairs that won't get washed down the plughole. I really don't understand why its a big deal.
