Why, what's happened?

JammySplodger · 04/04/2013 13:49

Why?

Buzzardbird · 04/04/2013 13:50

Can't get out of your car and go and see what is happening?

TheBigJessie · 04/04/2013 13:50

Is the Tesco located in Bermuda?

Wearegoingtobedlehem · 04/04/2013 14:05

It's Salisbury. There are roadworks on the exit slip. I have now been trying to leave ( along with a lot of others since 12.20). Absolute unbelievable gridlock and kids getting fractious. If there was a fire etc here they could never get the services in. Management can't do anything, police don't seem interested other than saying shut store. Tesco customer service line were only vaguely interested. I'm just so pissed off. Stuck in accident traffic is annoying but absolutely reasonable/ one of those things. This is just sheer craziness and not on!

Start eating your shopping!!

JammySplodger · 04/04/2013 14:09

I'd declare it an emergency and crack open the chocolate. Hope you haven't got much to go in the freezer.

Buzzardbird · 04/04/2013 14:14

Phone up manager of Tesco and tell him that unless they get down to the manager of the roadworks pronto then everyone in the queue is going to be claiming for all their spoiled food.

I think it is reasonable to claim for spoiled food if you can't get off the premises to get it in the fridge.

NorbertDentressangle · 04/04/2013 14:15

I wondered if it was people still stuck there from trying to do their shopping on the Thu before Easter as our supermarket was worse than Xmas that day.

ShirazSavedMySanity · 04/04/2013 14:15

Park up. Go back inside for a bottle of wine. Take it to the cafe, order anything full of sugar for the DC's and sit back and enjoy the wine.

nextphase · 04/04/2013 14:19

Shiraz has beaten me too it, and actually has a better plan.

I was going to say park up, and take the kids out for afternoon tea, and a play, if there is somewhere walkable to near by. It sounds like your going nowhere for a while, so make the most of it - and charge tesco for any frozen goods, and possibly the meat.

kelda · 04/04/2013 14:20

That's happened to me. We all got out and went to a cafe for dinner for three hours.

kelda · 04/04/2013 14:21

I wasn't in Tesco though. We were in the top of a multistorey car park and there was no way anyone could get out for three hours.

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 04/04/2013 14:26

This used to happen regularly at our local Sainsburys aftere thenshop was enlarged and the car park re designed

cumfy · 04/04/2013 14:30

Surely it's police responsibility to ensure that traffic flows.

The fact that it's coming from Tesco is not relevant.

Aldwick · 04/04/2013 14:33

Salisbury Tesco is hellish at the best of times. You have my sympathy.

Maggie111 · 04/04/2013 14:35

Tesco Chelmsford can have 2 hour queues on a busy Saturday - effing ridiculous.

is it tesco on the hardwick kings lynn ?

magimedi · 04/04/2013 14:42

Blimey! I lived near there back in the 90's & if it's the Tesco at Petersfinger, it was bad then - can't believe they haven't solved it.

Wearegoingtobedlehem · 04/04/2013 14:45

Unbelievably they have shut the store! Still not out yet Shock

Snotty letter asking for a free-delivery online shop I think!

Buzzardbird · 04/04/2013 14:50

Not unless Salisbury had moved to Norfolk egg? Grin

lindsey077 · 04/04/2013 14:54

I had a feeling it would be Salisbury from the thread title alone. I spent 45 minutes waiting to leave the carpark last year before the roadworks had even started. If I have to go to tesco now I park in the staples carpark over the road. It is awful and you have my sympathy.

Wearegoingtobedlehem · 04/04/2013 14:55

Oh my word they've shut the store. Finally out in just under 3 hours!!
