To want to throw a tab end back into this mans car?

This man was sat in his car outside our house - fair enough - then he flicked this tab end of his fag out which went onto the grass in front of our house then spat out of his window. I really wanted to go out and put his tab end back in his car and ask him not to spit in public. I didn't as I know really that it's not worth it but I really wanted too.

YANBU. Hate spitting and fag-flicking. it grips my shit.
(But even if you were BU I would say you weren't as you used tab end. Love that expression)

I would have done it if he'd been outside my house ... and addressed him in my best Teacher Voice... "Excuse me: you seem to have dropped this."

my neighbour smokes at her back door and flicks the butts either into my garden or onto the ground of the alley that runs between our houses and our gardens. they all gather at my fence/gate. it really annoys me because it really wouldn't be a massive inconvenience for her to have a little tin or something at her back door to stick them in then bin them once they are cold.

I was so tempted but my one year old DD was in the house with me and you never know what reaction you would get. I sometimes wish I was braver.

I not only would have done it but HAVE done it, more than once! I also chased someone down the road with the dog shit that they had left at the top of my drive threatening to follow them home and put it through their letter box. Yes I will probably be the next person on the front of the Sun having been beaten to death because I challenged the wrong person but that's another post...

my uncle did this - was walking along the pavement and a fag packet flew out of a parked car window up ahead...so he picked it up and chucked it back in as he went past...

how he managed to just keep going and not look back is beyond me

We have smoking bins outside at work and the smokers use them, but we still have fag ends blowing to our door from the moron opposite who just throws them in the road.
Guess who picks them up? (wearing disposable gloves).
He even talks to me whilst I'm picking HIS fag ends up.

I don't see how hard it is to carry around a disposable ashtray

When our house was being finished off, but the neighbours one was done and lived in, I kept finding fag ends in the garden. Saw one suddenly flick over the fence one day. They didn't realise we were there. I went out and said in a loud voice to dh 'those dirty bloody builders have left fag ends in our garden!' Never happened again.
