Eating during nappy change - it's a bit grim isn't it?

10mo DD makes nappy change a wrestling match. One we often loose. Distraction is the order of the day but this morning DP used a bit of banana as the distraction. I think this is not good hygiene and generally a bit grim. DP likens it to drinking tea on the loo. I don't think this analogy exactly helps his case!

Nothing wrong with keeping their hands busy. Ds2 liked to try and touch his shitty bum so i started giving him raisins while I did his bum.
Baby are really unhygenic anyway - wait till she becomes a toddler and enjoy licking railings and stranger's on the bus

Drinking tea on the loo is barbaric though

God, I thought you meant YOU eating while you dealt with a poonami.

Um. YABU.

Whatever stops them putting their hands in it I say

ThinkAboutItOnBoxingDay · 30/03/2013 15:50

Really? Huh. That's actually good news, adds a whole new range of things to the distraction arsenal.

I'm not telling DP he was right though.

Although I'm a little paranoid about choking so thinking about it I probably wouldn't

gallicgirl · 30/03/2013 15:51

Bit of a choking risk imo but I appreciate how hard it can be to distract.
Have you tried a mirror? I had a bendy one from mothercare which worked well.
