If it says at the park gate 'All dogs must be kept on a lead' keep your dog on a lead
If it says in a public building 'please close the door' close the door behind you
If it says in a pub 'children must be supervised at all times' supervise your children
Signs are there for a reason eg in the examples above to
- Allow people to use the park without strange dogs running up and annoying/frightening them
- To ensure other people aren't sitting in a draught in the church/restaurant wherever
- To make sure customers aren't being annoyed by kids tearing around or that kids aren't being put at risk by parents ignoring them while they enjoy a drink.
AIBU to think it's not rocket science and just do what the bloody sign asks?
