My dd's go to clubs which quite often have great deals on group days out/tickets etc. two seperate trips have come up this month which were also open to friends out with the group so I mentioned one trip to dd1's best friend and another to dd2's best friend (can only do one each due to age restrictions)

Both bit my hand of and said they would love their dd's to go so the places were reserved and now they are both backing out that it needs to be paid.

The first trip needed paid weeks ago and the group leader is hounding me for payment, said she only allocated the spot without payment due to how reliable I am at paying and she's dissapointed this has happened!

Trip two is this wed, other mum also messing me about. Says she can't afford it anymore (been arranged for weeks) I have had to pay for this one and my dd and her friend have talked none stop about it and I would hate her to miss out, I've been texting the parent all weekend reminding her its a early start and the girls need a packet lunch and I'm getting blown right out again.

Why do people do this? I never held a bloody gun to their heads and made them sign up. Why not just say no and stop me looking a total twat to the group leaders.

I'm sure I have mug written round across my head.

That is so annoying. You'll just have to explain to the parents that you'll be out if pocket if they pull out, or the group will.
Are there any other friends of your DCs that you could ask?

StuntGirl · 25/03/2013 18:53

I agree, I'd see if there was another friend I could offer the place to.

Bluemonkeyspots · 25/03/2013 19:08

Nope no other friend who would use it, I'm away tomorrow so have text the other mum, tried calling and sent my dd round with a message to be ready early on wed but am getting totally blown out.

I promise I never talked anyone into these trips, simply mentioned they were available, how much they cost and I would be doing the dropping off/picking up myself.

Next time I will be keeping my mouth shut, I'm a total bargain hunter though and hate the thought of other people (esp children who would otherwise not get) missing out. Not my problem though I suppose Hmm
