To be annoyed at my friends

I work together with my 2 best friends. We don't often all have the same night off together so nights out with all 3 of us are very rare.
I'm on holiday this week so tomorrow night will be a night that we're all off together. When I booked my holiday we all arranged to do something together that night but as none of us have much money at the moment it was decided that we'd go to my friends house for drinks then off to the local Indian for a curry. I don't go out very often so was really looking forward to this night.
A couple of weeks after it had all been arranged it was announced that an X factor 'star' was appearing at a local nightclub. I knew my two friends both like fancy him so knew that they'd want to go. The date of the show didn't register at first so I was excited for them. When I saw them next I was chatting to them about the show and then it suddenly dawned on me that it was on the night we were supposed to be going out. I jokingly said "so I've been dumped for ...... Then?" and they were both saying things like "well it's no contest, you know how much we like him" they said I was welcome to go with them but it's defo not my kind of scene and I couldn't justify the ticket money for something I won't really enjoy. I offered to perhaps meet up with them after the show for a late curry but they dismissed that idea.

I know I should be happy that they're going to have a great night at something they'll really enjoy but I can't help feeling gutted that I'm missing out on a night out I was looking toward to.

you need more friends.

Yes, I'd be disappointed too, but if they are really keen on this xfactor chap and him being there is a one off, I can see why they went. I know its not your scene, but could you have done it as a one-off to go out with your friends?

If I could have afforded it I probably would have gone but ticket costs were stupid IMO

I wouldn't be too annoyed at them, they were upfront and lighthearted about it, if they'd gone behind your back saying they were staying in then posted pics of them at the x-factor thingy all over fb the next day, that would be shitty.

But really you've decided you don't want to go, I know they changed what they wanted to do, but that's pretty normal and not unreasonable.
