i have a work colleague who is always taking time off sick, living in a 3 bed social housing house alone, who has now moved in an internet BF of 3 months, who was working and now tells us he has 2 slipped discs and is on sick leave. There is always a new story, she is rude then pretends she is joking. I think she hasn't reported him moving in. WWYD

Nothing.

WestieMamma · 19/03/2013 20:33

She hasn't reported him moving in to whom? Confused

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 19/03/2013 20:33

About him moving in, I mean.

About her being rude to you - tell her to stop. Just be assertive.

TheFallenNinja · 19/03/2013 20:34

Nothing. I'd mind my business.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 19/03/2013 20:35

I assumed to the council/housing association, Westie.

LadyApricot · 19/03/2013 20:36

Avoid her and hope she goes away! I know it's hard when you're working together but just pity the bf!

pensarefriends · 19/03/2013 20:36

It's not really got anything to do with you. Leave her alone. Live and let live.

HollyBerryBush · 19/03/2013 20:36

I think she hasn't reported him moving in

Fuck all without evidence.

WestieMamma · 19/03/2013 20:37

That's what I thought too ImTooHecsy, which is why I was confused because as far as I knew, you could move in whoever you liked. In fact isn't the bedroom tax supposed to encourage it?

gordyslovesheep · 19/03/2013 20:39

totally not seeing the FRAUD issue - YABU

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts · 19/03/2013 20:41

So where is the fraud? She's a work colleague so presumably paying full rent. AFAIK you don't have to report someone moving in.

YABU.

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 19/03/2013 20:41

I know. I don't understand. I would have thought benefit bashing OP but she started off by saying that it's a work colleague, so clearly it isn't a single parent on £20,000 benefits a week with 81 children by 1293 fathers, living in a mansion and having a butler paid for WITH MY MONEY...

expatinscotland · 19/03/2013 20:42

She doesn't have to report him if she's not claiming HB. And if she's on sick leave from work she might not be claiming HB. There's nothing to report.

WestieMamma · 19/03/2013 21:13

Maybe she has an un-declared goat in one of the bedrooms.

Maggie111 · 19/03/2013 21:22

You get a big allowance on your council tax for living as a single person. If you knew her address I might be tempted to put an anonymous call into the council.

I'm sure as he's been there for 3 months they'll just presume it's an oversight and no harm will come to her, but hopefully she'll pay full rates from now on.

Catchingmockingbirds · 19/03/2013 21:27

What does her 3 bed council house have to do with anything? Infact, what fraud is she committing? She works so wouldn't be claiming JSA...

Fakebook · 19/03/2013 21:28

So you have time to sit down and report someone for "suspected" fraud? You'd go to all that trouble? Hmm

Goldchilled7up · 19/03/2013 21:33

It sounds that you really dislike this woman and you re just looking for a way to cause her harm. It's not about doing the right thing.
