To not warm to Sinead O'Connor

Listening to BBC6 Music and has Sinead O'Connor on at the moment.

I actually find her quite interesting (which is why I'm still listening) but she just sounds SO miserable and takes herself far too seriously (ok so I know she has had MH issues which might account for depression).

I just can't warm to her.

Aibu?

I think she's great.

In what way? Explain yourself! Wink

As i said, I find her interesting but just don't particularly feel the love

Great songs, great voice.
What's not to like?

Fanjounchained · 17/03/2013 13:06

Great voice but i think she is a bit odd. Dm saw her on Alan Titchmarch the other day and said something along the lines of «that poor lassie isn`t right». Also conmented that she was spitting a lot whilst singing. I think that she was absolutely stunning when she was younger.

I think that she's one brave and talented woman. She's endured a lot, and has massive talent. I actually like that she doesn't conform to the niceties required of women in general. More power to her.

I warmed to her. I really enjoyed the programme and her choices of music played.

I can't stand her.

JerryLeadbetter · 17/03/2013 13:30

I definitely enjoyed the programme and her music choices, I just feel that she never seems particularly happy with anyone or anything, quite possibly to do with what she's been through in life, but I still don't think that gives rights to be a bit of an arse a lot of the time.

I too like that she's interesting and non-conformist in lots of ways, but i still think she's miserable as fuck. Grin

I think she's great. Talented and fearless.

itshothere · 17/03/2013 14:54

I thought she was ok until I saw her being interviewed on a Sunday morning programe (can't remember the name of it?) where she was rude, obnoxious and belligerent. Went off her and actually felt embarrassed for her .

gobbin · 17/03/2013 15:43

Rude, whiney bitch. That's an opinion formed from three interviews on radio/tv recently.

countrykitten · 17/03/2013 15:49

Can't bear her- no idea why MN folk think that she is some great feminist icon. Not in my book.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 17/03/2013 16:37

Supposedly, she was ordained a Catholic priest. I don't think she really meant it beyond making some statement, and that offends me.
