Dp works in an office. He has a computer on his desk ( exclusively for his use) and in his office. He got a telling off from his regional manager for having a picture of us a family on the beach as his screensaver. He apparently said it wasn't appropriate as people may get the 'wrong idea' about him as the children are wearing swimsuits.
They're his children and we're in it too, it's not some random picture of a child in a swim suit from the Internet.

AIBU to think this is a world gone mad? He checked their policies and there is no mention of appropriate screen savers.

His screen isn't even in view when he has meetings so it's not even as if anyone would see it to get the wrong idea in the first place.

Yanbu. swim suits ffs. does this person also think swimming pools should be closed?

Well, the world HAS gone mad though.
As an aside; where I work all our wallpaper is reset by the "mother ship" so any personalising is eradicated every time you switch on.

If it is any consolation, I have a picture of my children in their swimsuits on my computer - no adult in sight . They are sticking their tongues out too. So there.

YANBU, but the world has gone mad, so the manager is just being extra careful. I'm sure there's another nice family picture somewhere that your DP could use.

There's also the very tiny possibility that the manager knows that someone in the office isn't as pure minded as the majority, and so is doing it for that reason. People who look at child pornography do sometimes have jobs in offices.

There's nothing remotely pornographic about kids in swimsuits, cloudsandtrees, and the manager specifically said people might get the wrong idea about op's dh - they're HIS own children

Many moons ago when I worked uptown, my colleague had an avatar type thing of a dancing baby. Asked to remove it on account of all the 'infertile people' who may be wandering around, offended.

DD1 is 15 and the youngest member of an adult outdoor activity club.
DH ends up going to chaperone.

She's ever with one person on their own, no opportunities for grooming and she's not exactly naive.

We want teens to be fit and active, but the rules are ridiculous, we are treating them like 7 year olds who don't know the facts of life.

Not totally - a former colleague had a picture of his wife in a bikini as a screensaver, fine for his own use, but then he took the laptop along to make a presentation to some important Japanese clients, paused to take questions and a picture of a woman in a bikini came up on the projector screen, he got a major bollocking.

I use my laptop for client presentations occasionally and never put up family photos as the wallpaper etc, just doesn't look professional.

If it is completely for his use only then I don't see the problem though.
