than having your card decline...several times, due to lack of funds in front of a whole shop.ShockSadAngry

I was buying some pizza, drumsticks etc for a birthday tea for my DP I had to put everything back,Sad

I just want someone to really piss me off so I would be justified in hitting something/crying.

Is there anything more humiliating?

I have a lacy knickers and Velcro horror story only they got stuck onto my ds book bag and I didn't notice until he was running across the playground. Cue me running behind him trying to discreetly rescue my knickers.

Or that time we were staying with the in laws and their fucking annoying nosy dog raided my suitcase and found my (thankfully clean) mooncup. The stupid fucking dog came trotting through, dropped it at fil feet.

'Ooo what ya got there old boy?'

What followed was a fucking agonising few minutes of mil and fil going 'ooo how odd', holding it up to the light 'what do you think it is Martha?' Until he popped it beside the kitchen sink and declared it must have came out the greenhouse.

I just hope they never find out what it was.

I threw it in the bin.

Cat, your firemen story is doing my cough NO GOOD AT ALL! It's the 'I can explain the swimming costume' but that has me stuck for breath.

This has happened to me before too OP. In harder times we were on holiday with dh's family (local and cheap camping holiday but still one we should not have been on) and we were doing shared meal arrangements. It was our turn to buy and I felt like crying when I went to pay and two cards for two different banks were declined. I was just about to leave when the credit card went through.

It is horrible. But, i remembered that in my student days when I worked in bars and restaurants, cards were declined all the time, and often from the customers you'd least expect it from. You are most definitely not alone or unusual.

It's awful but try not to worry too much what others in the shop think.
Thanks
