WHY isn't there a giant creme egg??? Why??? Grin

AbuseHamzaMousseCake · 13/03/2013 11:29

Giant Creme Egg would be too sickly that's why! The teeny ones are much better - more choc to creme ratio Grin
Now a Bounty Egg would be eggscellent! Mmmm

NicknameTaken · 13/03/2013 11:30

Damn you, now I'm craving a Bounty Egg. Ooooh....

MissMogwi · 13/03/2013 11:31

I want an egg filled with that Malteaster bunny filling. But a Fruit and Nut one would light my candle too.

DangerousBeanz · 13/03/2013 11:37

YABU but only because I've just sat and eaten a bag of chocolate truffles I got for mothers day, and now I feel sick. This thread isn't helping. I know... I brought it on myself. Grin

Years and years ago when I was in primary school I won a giant creme egg that was filled with the fondant. They weren't available to buy but a company that was putting on an Easter play (probably on behalf of a Cadburys promo, naughty naughty :o) From what I remember I shared it with my brothers and it was very very messy. The fondant was slightly powdery and thicker too. It wasn't the same consistency as the smaller eggs. I also remember buying my mum a mint wispa easter egg. She didn't share so have no idea if it was tasty or not.

Shutupanddrive · 13/03/2013 18:02

I found a big kinder surprise egg for DS in tesco today, he will love it :)

Shutupanddrive · 13/03/2013 18:02

Asda actually

MissSparrow · 13/03/2013 18:30

LaalRatty, you have lived the dream!! Grin

Ullena · 13/03/2013 19:30

Re the giant creme egg, you could in theory carefully slice a regular chocolate egg in half, then melt a dozen or so creme eggs, and use them to fill the large egg, which you could then reseal...that would fix the fondant:chocolate ratio!

Actually, that would work with mars bars too...

NoRoomForMeInMyBed · 13/03/2013 19:32

ullena now were talking! (Adds 20 bountybars and a choc egg mould to shoppinglist)

I got agiant chocolate orange egg about 14 years ago and the chocolate was that thick I had to use a hammer to smash it open mmmmm I want that one to be made again.

However YABU about the bounty coconut is yuk!

Yoghurty · 13/03/2013 20:44

If you google 'creme egg fondant', there is a recipe Wink
I made a giant creme egg for a friend last year- messy isn't the word!

I'm thinking I could make a bounty egg- surely naice milk Choc with added desiccated coconut would work? Then painted into a mould?

Runs off to experiment

twolittlemonkeys · 13/03/2013 20:50

Make your own!

I used to make Easter eggs for my friends and pipe their names on in icing or white chocolate like they do in Thorntons. I'm loving the idea of a fruit and nut egg. Or an After Eight one. Mmmmmm. :)

kaumana · 13/03/2013 21:09

YANBU I would buy one!

Does anyone remember the toffee and mallow eggs? Haven't seen them in ages.

I would also buy a full size malteser bunny one.

willesden · 13/03/2013 21:41

YABU. Coconut is the work of the Devil himself.
