FFS MIL and Mothers Day bollocks

OH sent MIL a card for today (we live 300 miles away)

He was working today and within 10 minutes of him getting home, his DM text him to ask why he hadn't said Happy Mothers Day on fucking Faceache. He ate dinner and then called her, explained he was at work all day and did she receive her card?

yes, she did

But apparently that's not good enough because he didn't say it on Faceache. If he was at work all day, then why didn't I say it instead and now she feels unappreciated and that we are ignoring her!

I fecking give up

I bet your MIL had seen all the other Mother's day messages and felt a bit left out that her child didn't do it.

Right, because all his friends will have scanned his wall, noticed he didn't post a MD message, and concluded that he hates his mother?

She needs to get a grip. When's her birthday?

Sadly she is 52 but has got it into her head that if it isn't plastered all over facebook then it doesn't count.

I mean, really. She even says Happy Birthday, Xmas etc to DS via facebook - he's fucking 4!

amI bad that Ive just logged onto my sisters FB page to see if she said 'happy mother's day'?? I know DP hasnt - they really just dont bother with it.

Come to think of it, my DM would have been mortified if I'd posted a slushy message on FB. But then she doesn't really "get" FB at all anyway.

My kids both sent me a text to say happy Mother's Day, they know I think it's a load of bollocks....then my son sent a text saying "happy Mother's Day (insert name) your the best step mum ever" the step mum hasn't spoken to them iin years, etc, is horrible, then he sent me a text saying oops, sent that to the wrong mum.....I sent one back saying "your dead to me", this passes as humour to us, I did laugh at his text about the stepmom!! Glad I am so relaxed about it.
