Norma She looks beautiful, I am so sorry for your loss xxx
Can you post the text donation code for her page please? Stoic x

LadyLech · 10/03/2013 18:22

My mum came over for lunch. We had raclette (no cooking involved!) and I bought her a spa day (joint with my brother). My daughters bought her some flowers.

I took my nan some flowers and a card when I went to see her this morning.

mumblecrumble · 10/03/2013 18:26

Norma, so sorry. Cruel disease, have visited the page.

MadameJosephine · 10/03/2013 18:49

I had a lovely portrait taken of my children and gave it to her in a frame together with some flowers and chocs. Believe me it was not an easy task, DS is almost 17 and did not want his photograph taken but in the end I even managed to get him to put a nice shirt on and smile for the camera

I've rung her, sent her a card and had flowers delivered today. MIL has had a card and a naice potted plant arrangement thingy.

WeAreSix · 10/03/2013 19:00

Of course, Flowers to those without their mums. None of mine or DH's grandmothers are alive now & both our DMs have missed them terribly today.

I've got friends without their mums too. I feel awful for them and try not to be OTT about Mother's Day to try and spare their feelings.

VBisme · 10/03/2013 19:03

I gave her a cookbook and some chocolates and a card, bought some flowers on Friday when I saw her and cooked and washed up on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Next time I travel I am buying her some bb cream that she likes, but she is VERY special.

BeaWheesht · 10/03/2013 19:13

Visited her last weekend and took her and dad out for lunch. Have her a plant pot with lavender and some chocolates.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 10/03/2013 19:17

DM is 85 and travelled down from Ne to SW on a train for a week so i am thrilled to have her here for the first time in two years. we have had a lazy day with DH parents here too and now watching crufts! she is happy and I am Smile

curiousgeorgie · 10/03/2013 19:42

I made my mum & mother in law a piece of art each that was heart in a huge white frame but if you looked really closely the heart was made up of all the children's names, grandchildrens names, places we've even on holiday, Soecial memories.

My mum is an interior decorator and devoted to her house so it was a massive risk to give her something like that but fortunately she loved it :)

And she got Argo and some flowers from my DD ;)

Chippychop · 10/03/2013 19:43

Lovely to read most of these. I sent mine a box with a hand written letter, homemade scones, magazine subscription, and Chocs that have "I love mum" on. I also called her. She lives 250 miles away but we are meeting Half way on Easter Sunday

curiousgeorgie · 10/03/2013 19:43

Spellcheck!! Sorry...

SamraLee · 10/03/2013 19:53

My Mother in Law got loads of homemade food for her freezer and we also brought her a bouquet of flowers and cards. My mother did not get anything as she is American/lives in America and Mother's Day is celebrated in May.

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 10/03/2013 19:57

I couldn't afford to go to her so she came here for a cuppa and I gave her a bunch of flowers (lidl roses that I forgot to take the price off Blush)

She got me chocolates as she knew dp wouldn't have been able to pick me up anything from the kids Smile

Soditall · 10/03/2013 20:08

I bought my Mum a bunch of flowers, some chocolates,2 pot plants,a necklace,a handbag,a silk scarf,a mothers day picture frame, and a cardigan. Also bought her two cards one from me and my husband and one from the children.
We all went and saw her this afternoon and she got lots of kisses and cuddles of everyone.

BlahBlahBlahhh · 10/03/2013 20:22

Took my mum and Nan out for afternoon tea yesterday...very posh ! Was in London on Friday so popped into Selfridges and bought MIL posh tea and buisuits. Thanks to all those missing their mums x

mrsmalcolmreynolds · 10/03/2013 20:30

Nothing. Mine actively dislikes MD (history to do with emotional abuse connected to it by her own "D"M). I will be chatting to her on the phone later though which we do every weekend for a good hour or so.

TheFallenMadonna · 10/03/2013 20:34

Sent flowers to arrive Friday, as she's off on holiday tomorrow and having them delivered today would have been a bit of a waste...

bringonyourwreckingball · 10/03/2013 20:36

I bought my mum flowers. We don't really 'do' Mother's Day in our family (her choice) but she's been so fab lately I couldn't let it pass without something.

redwellybluewelly · 10/03/2013 21:12

My mother - nothing
My MIL - day with various family members and our DC yesterday and even managed to rustle up lunch between us

NotInTheMood · 10/03/2013 21:30

A few of my friends have lost their mums recently which made me realise I need to appreciate my mum a lot more as she does an awful lot for me. I brought her a big bunch of flowers and chocolates and invited her around for afternoon tea with lots of homemade cooking.

catgirl1976 · 10/03/2013 21:31

A big bunch of gorgeous flowers (not a crysanthamum in sight)

Me and DS baked and iced cookies and put them in a lovely box with tissue paper and DS got her (sort of, he is only 15 months) a "Grandma" mug so she can have a cup of tea and a cookie from him.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 10/03/2013 21:36

I called her this afternoon and DC's told her their news too.
I think card will arrive tomorrow morning Blush - just missed evening post on Friday.
But she's had a nice weekend with my DF, DSis and DN's so hopefully that will do !

DizzyHoneyBee · 10/03/2013 21:37

Flowers from DD, chocolates from DS, a card from each of us and we took her out for lunch yesterday at her favourite place.
