Erm, he gets father's day surely?

Arithmeticulous · 10/03/2013 10:32

Because you are not a "full time mother?" Hmm

Sidge · 10/03/2013 10:33

Err no, he's not a mother.

He'll get Father's Day. Because he's, like, a father!

BanjoPlayingTiger · 10/03/2013 10:33

No! He gets Father's day on accout of him being, you know, a Father.

LizaRose · 10/03/2013 10:34

Do the DC call him Mum?

SminkoPinko · 10/03/2013 10:34

[Shock] Angry Tell them to fuck off.

YouTheCat · 10/03/2013 10:34

Buy him a nice pinny and a book of recipes. Grin

SkinnybitchWannabe · 10/03/2013 10:34

Rubbish. Regardless of him being a SAHD you gave birth to your dc!
PIL are talking bollocks.
Enjoy your day.

LoopDeLoops · 10/03/2013 10:35

Grim, isn't it?

OP posts:
LoopDeLoops · 10/03/2013 10:35

In fairness to PIL, it was Grandma-in-law who suggested it.

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/03/2013 10:38

And will you get Fathers day then?

Catchingmockingbirds · 10/03/2013 10:38

That's what Father's Day is for!

Nagoo · 10/03/2013 10:39

Are you going to get Father's Day Hmm? I've never heard such bollocks. Sorry Grandma-In-Law Hmm

ENormaSnob · 10/03/2013 10:39

So do you get fathers day instead then? Y'know being the provider and all?

They are talking shit.

Iaintdunnuffink · 10/03/2013 10:40

How odd, he has Father's Day.

Sounds like Grandma-in-law is having a little dig. She's old, smile, nod, ignore.

Montybojangles · 10/03/2013 10:40

It depends if you are seeing it as the american commercialised mothers day, or the original Christian mothering Sunday.
The traditional mothering Sunday was for those working in service (servants) to go home to their mother church with their family, so both men and women went mothering.

GirlWiththeLionHeart · 10/03/2013 10:40

So do mums who work 'get' Father's Day? Hmm

verytellytubby · 10/03/2013 10:46

Bizarre.

thegreylady · 10/03/2013 10:54

A man is not a mother! I dont see any way round that grandma-in law!

VBisme · 10/03/2013 11:27

Totally ridiculous of course you get Mother's Day.
Grandma is old and foolish.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 10/03/2013 11:31

Grandma in law is out of line.

Mothers day is for Mothers, Fathers day is for fathers.

Grandparents day is just made up load of bollocks. The end

catgirl1976 · 10/03/2013 11:35

YANBU

He get's fathers day

Your PILs are odd. And possibly horrible :(

Losingexcessweight · 10/03/2013 11:35

This made me laugh!

So your only a mother if you stay at home full time?

Hehehe

ZenNudist · 10/03/2013 11:37

Wow that's a slap in the face. Just because an old lady came up with it does not absolve your ILs for repeating it.

What did you reply?
