Ex/mothers day (petty)

I think I am probably being unreasonable, but just need telling as feeling slightly sulky!
It's my first mothers day, and me and my ex are on friendly terms. He phoned earlier to ask about DS, and mentioned that he has made a card for his mum, nan and sister written from him saying what he's been up to and thank you for visiting so on, and told me which photo he put on each.
I'm not seeing him until next weekend, and have had no card :( I wouldn't have thought about it really, but it's just that 3 other people are getting mothers day cards "from DS" and I'm not. So petty I know but it's really got me down and missing the whole "family" set up rather than just me and DS.

Well you can do the same for male members of your family on Fathers Day.. :)

Once your child is old enough, he will make cards himself for you.

(By written from him saying what he's been up to, I mean written as if "by DS" saying what DS has been up to)

YANBU to be sad about changes in your life.

YABU to care about cards. They're rubbish. Just have a lovely day with your son Smile

I might be misunderstanding things, but are you not seeing your DS until next weekend? That seems a bit unfair, DH and his ex are by no means friendly, but DH always sees the kids on fathers day, and his ex always sees them on mothers day.

They might all be getting cards. You are the only one who is his Mum.

Have a lovely day with your baby Smile

I would never expect my X to make sure the kids get/give me anything for Mother's Day.... jmho

Depending on the age, the kids can either do it themselves, (make it), or maybe see if your sister/brother/family friend can take them to get you something for Mother's Day....

jmho

DS is 5 months, so can't really "make" one, it was more just the fact that other people where getting ones from him while I wasn't on my first mothers day.
But, we had a lovely day and he has found a new love for fish while we were at the pet shop so I've bought him a couple, so sort of mothers day present there! Smile
