It's raining, my DS is so ill with his cold I don't think he'll notice if we don't, we barely slept and I have no other reason for going out other than to walk about it the rain for 'fresh air' (I don't drive).

Just got off the phone with my mum who thinks it's borderline child abuse that we're staying in today & now I feel like I'm being a lazy mum Hmm

maybe I'm just so tired that I can't think straight. Little comments never break the surface normally!!

Did your mum get her money back from Charm School? Hmm If you want to stay home, stay home. It's no big deal. And maybe don't give your mum chapter and verse on your plans in future if she's so unhelpful?

GoldenGreen · 07/03/2013 12:36

Well, my mum would consider it borderline child abuse to take a child with a cold out at all, never mind in the rain (different culture!). Does that help?! YANBU, you need some rest and so does he. Snuggle down and get a DVD on!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 07/03/2013 12:36

Well your mum sounds like a treat.

Ignore her. Shes talking shit.

scarletforya · 07/03/2013 12:39

I'm not going out either. YANBU.

I'm going to stay in and do all those long-finger-niggly jobs like organising the photo albums, emptying the shed and weeding the garden, de-clutter the attic and organise my paperwork.

ahem

OzmaofOz · 07/03/2013 12:39

I am a lazy mum too and I haven't even got ill dc. I got up earlier and though sod it I am going no where.

targaryen24 · 07/03/2013 12:40

Thanks. She just asked in passing when she called to ask why I was on fb so early this morning (2am) - (I was up with DS).

Made me doubt myself as she normally gives the best advice out of everyone I know! I'll put it down to her having a bad day or something I spose.

I really couldn't bare to take him out the way he looks right now. Quite a nasty cold bless him Sad

(He's 2yrs but quite big & when he's not ill he needs a good walk about or I pay for it come bedtime! But he's not bothered at all this morning. Just wants to sit on my lap & use me as a human tissue)!

Why on earth would you take a sick child out of a warm house?

Stay in put TV on cuddke hnder duvets and in future stop giving your mom chapter and verse about your life.

targaryen24 · 07/03/2013 12:43

^ as I said above, I don't tell her our every move, she just asked in passing about our plans for the day and suddenly went off on one, making me feel like I'd missed something.

We are staying in today as had gas boiler repair man coming and baby is poorly with temperature, we go out a lot but not today, I think it would be crueler to take her out. (ran put of loo roll earlier but have kitchen roll until Daddy comes home).

Don't worry about it,

KellyElly · 07/03/2013 16:18

I don't get the obsession with going out every day. If it's pissing down with rain me and DD stay in she'll watch films, paint, read, play etc. YANBU.

BunnyLebowski · 07/03/2013 16:21

Me and DD haven't changed out of our pjs today. We've watched 2 films, read a pile of books and played Guess Who

She starts primary school in September so I am enjoying every last lazy day together until I lose this precious time with herSad

Stuff your Mum. Enjoy it Smile

CocacolaMum · 07/03/2013 16:24

I wasn't even going to get dressed today let alone leave the house - I am planning on this again tomorrow. Dd is ill and ds wouldn't be seen dead with me on the school run as he is nearly 12 and therefore a grown up apparently.

targaryen24 · 07/03/2013 20:25

I'm so glad we didn't go out! The weather got worse where I am too.

We just watched all the Disney dvds we own & mucked about with playdough.

Thanks for the replies Smile

YANBU at all, but I can't bear to stay in all day, rain or not! Obviously if my children were ill I'd keep them in but only in that case. I feel awful iif I don't get out of the house all day!
