I will be 17 years married this year and my wedding ring no longer fits after massive weight loss. MY dh wants me to get ring resized expect it was my gran mothers and the ring is so old will not take a resize . Dh has said he will buy me a new ring but i cant settle to that idea it wouldnt feel like my ring now neither of us are happy and its causing problems . Should i just take the new ring and keep quite please advise.

Could you wear it on a chain around your neck? I always think that looks very pretty.

Could you melt it down (maybe with any other sentimental jewellery that you never wear) and have a ring made??

Can you compromise by wearing two? The grandmother's looser ring below a new one from DH that holds it in place?

Any significant events coming up whose symbolism could attach to the new ring?

Thanks for the help yes i like the idea of wearing the two rings that could work why didnt i think of that getting old lol . Anything to put a smile back on my DH face again.

I wear two wedding rings, one a size smaller than the other. I lost my first wedding ring, so eventually DH bought me a new one, then I found the original ring under the bed Blush After I lost weight, I only had one of the rings resized - it works well and they never fall off.
