Oh it really is shit. My partner watches it and occasionally tries to engage me in it (watching, not actually doing MMA!) and it's just lots of homoerotic cuddling punctuated by occasional fisticuffs and kicking. It's boring and yet at the same time quite barbaric.

I think they've been attracted by the talk guidelines in AIBU - 'this is not a fight club'. We all know that's code for 'this is a fight club', so obviously we'd be interested in watching the pros.
