To visit the cafe or not

Would it be unreasonable to go off soonish to my local cafe and have a coffee even though I went there yesterday and am potentially facing financial ruin because my husband is being made redundant today.
I think I feel like spending recklessly as I feel so fed up and worried about the future!
Yesterday it cost me £5.40 ish just for a coffee and a cake!
Where do all the coffee house frequenters get their money from?
£5.40 for twenty minutes entertainment.
Also I am feeling bad because I only like going to Costa because I feel more anonymous there.I would like to support the independent cafes but I feel like I am being judged if I go to them on how little I am spending(in their eyes not mine!)and how long I stay.
So should I go and spend a small fortune (and feel like a bit of a saddo sat alone in the corner)or stay at home bored and make do with a home made hot drink?

ps OP don't feel like people are watching/judging you if you 'only have' something small. anyone that would judge someone for something like that wouldn't be worthing know and thus i personally wouldn't give a shit WHAT they thought. hope everything sorts itself out with dh and his job, these things usually do, just takes time

independent cafes do not judge you on how little you are spending or how long you stay.

i know that an indie would prefer you t o buy one coffee from them rather than costa. and i bet it's cheaper too.

I'm sorry you're feeling so stressed. I doubt going out and spending money is going to make you feel better, though. I'd stay in, personally.

Is there something you can do to help you feel more in control? Work out a budget perhaps? Look online at what benefits you'd be entitled to if the worst happened?

Weatherspoons 79p coffee, the one I use is lovely and really child friendly, the coffee is gorgeous too!
