Watching Making of Derek. I love Derek. It's caring, heartfelt, poignant and funny.

Ricky Gervais is funny, clever and caring (yes, I really do think that!) and not bad looking (even more shocking, I know!)

So, AIBU? I presume I'm alone in this one...

:)

Yes he's all yours.

potsyandco · 27/02/2013 22:39

I thought so! Grin

Totally on your own. He is a prize cock.

HildaOgden · 27/02/2013 22:40

Totally and utterly unreasonable.

He's a prick.Fact.

smellysocksandchickenpox · 27/02/2013 22:40

Derek is absolutely brilliant!
So spot on... and warm.. and just brilliant!

potsyandco · 27/02/2013 22:40

I don't think he's a cock.

He cares about old people and little animals and stuff!

potsyandco · 27/02/2013 22:41

He also writes great parts for women. I love him!

HildaOgden · 27/02/2013 22:41

And he's not just a prick...he's a prick with a really irritatingly false laugh.

babiesinslingsgetcoveredinfood · 27/02/2013 22:42

He's a funny atheist. But not sexy. Nice to have a drink with but you can take him home Grin

Smartiepants79 · 27/02/2013 22:42

I find him intensely annoying.
Clearly a very clever writer but every time he laughs I want to smack him!

potsyandco · 27/02/2013 22:42

Oh yes, an an atheist! I love him more!

babiesinslingsgetcoveredinfood · 27/02/2013 22:43

hilda yy re laugh, but nowhere near as bad as Jimmy Carr!!! Properly does my head in!

tilder · 27/02/2013 22:43

Please take him. Far away.

I thought I had weird taste in men!

babiesinslingsgetcoveredinfood · 27/02/2013 22:44

There are loads of quotes from him in Richard Dawkins' work. You might need to fight him off!

potsyandco · 27/02/2013 22:44

Jimmy Carr's laugh is beyond awful. Ricky Gervais. Yes, I'd like to have a good giggle with him.

Follow him on Twitter for a while, that wiLl soon put you off.

seeker · 27/02/2013 22:46

I think he's a fantastic, articulate thoughtful atheist, and we need them.

However, bye is also a sexist, disablist git, who thinks it's OK to use the word "mong".

I sometimes wonder if he's two people.

potsyandco · 27/02/2013 22:46

Why's that Gary? I don't know how to use Twitter. Blush

Sexist and disablist? But I think his writing is great for women (presuming you meant sexism as anti-female). I also presumed that his jokes around disabilities were about the stupid prejudice that people have - e.g. in The Office. The Life's Too Short was just about a daft person. RG includes people with disabilities in his writing - a good thing, no?

babiesinslingsgetcoveredinfood · 27/02/2013 22:58

I agree, he's highlighting issues but gets misinterpreted.

ScumbagCollegeDropout · 27/02/2013 23:01

YANBU. I'll fight you for him Grin

seeker · 27/02/2013 23:14

And the"mong" business? Misinterpretation?

countrykitten · 27/02/2013 23:40

I don't think he's attractive but I do think that he is incredibly talented and have just watched Derek which I love. He is a clever writer whose work gets misinterpreted by those who look to be offended rather than understand the point he is trying to make.
