The main character watches his family die one by one when he is a child, the one responsible for it follows him wherever he goes. He eventually finds the woman he wishes to spend the rest of his life with and the start a family only for a freak accident to kill one of their children and seriously injure his partner. His partner eventually succumbs to her injuries and he has to fight off the guy who killed his family in order to save his remaining two children, unfortunately he can only save his youngest and almost dies doing so.

This is a childrens film about dinosaurs and I've just sat and cried pretty much all the way through. He's had such a hard life :(

*In my defense I'm very hormonal Blush

It sounds awful, why would anyone want to subject themselves to watching such misery....

Sounds like a Danielle Steel book.

But no, YANBU crying at that...I would be a blubbering wreck and I am not hormonal. Don't watch Hatchi A Dogs Tale then, will tip you over the edge!

SPsFanjoTheBigStickyHaribo · 26/02/2013 13:34

I also cried at Toy Story 3! When the toys hold hands when they think they are going into the fore and when Andy gives them away.

Anither note: Apparently there is going to be a Toy Story 4!

Petsinmypudenda · 26/02/2013 13:41

Oh yes when they all realise there's no way out and all hold hands.. I was in bits.and in toy story 2 when jessie is left in a box

BlessedDespair · 26/02/2013 13:43

I cried at Toy Story 3 and UP, in fact a lot of films seem to make me cry. I'm the only member of my family to have cried watching the Titanic

Toy Story 4 you say? YAY Grin

tedmundo · 26/02/2013 13:44

I have seen grown men cry at Up. It is an amazing film.

timetosmile · 26/02/2013 13:45

My DCs put Toy Story3 on for no other reason other than to see me cry and ruffle DS1 (12)'s hair they grow up so fast, sob

LaPetiteSirene · 26/02/2013 13:47

Never understood why people cried at PS I love you.

He died after one scene, you hadn't been introduced to his character or watched him develop or fell in love with them as a couple.

Maybe I am heartless like Chandler and agree that Bambi was very sad "when the guys stopped drawing the cartoon deer" Smile

SpicyPear · 26/02/2013 13:48

YANBU. I would cry at that and probably feel sad about it for a week afterwards Blush

I actually had a go at DH after watching Up at his suggestion. Made me feel dreadful. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who is a bit daft and oversensitive when it comes to films.

BlessedDespair · 26/02/2013 13:58

Surely though childrens films shouldn't be quite so depressing

OP posts:
SpicyPear · 26/02/2013 14:04

I agree. The Snowman and Watership Down are probably the root of my issue with sad films!

kalidanger · 26/02/2013 14:08

Did your DC cry at the dino film? Sounds like the grown-up theme, amongst all the DC-friendly dinosaur stuff, was quite well done if it got you so deep in the feels Wink

As for Toy Story 3 I didn't give much of a stuff at the giving away bit but I sobbed and choked at the furnace bit. In a cinema.

FeckOffCup · 26/02/2013 14:18

Yes toy story 3 got me as well, sobbed from the furnace bit until the end. I can't remember the name of the film now but I was in bits at one about a family that raises a baby cheetah and then release it, when it goes off into the wild Sad.

BlessedDespair · 26/02/2013 14:25

Nope nephew didn't cry but did provide cuddles to help cheer me up :)

kalidanger · 26/02/2013 14:27

Awwww. Did you try to explain why dear aunty was crying at dinosaurs? "Well, DN. there are these things called 'hormones'. They are like naughty pixies that make girls cry and when you're a bit older, som hair might grow and... And... Uhm, let's do some drawing!"

numbum · 26/02/2013 14:28

I'm another Toy Story 3 crier! I cried the most at

Bridge to Terabithia makes me cry too Sad

hellsbellsmelons · 26/02/2013 14:35

I always cry when Mustafa dies in Lion King.
And Eight Below is meant to be a kids film but soooo sad. Good, but sad!
YANBU to cry at this. Bless you!

ElectricalBanana · 26/02/2013 14:39

Bawled at the snowman and the dog....oh just sat next to me holding my hand. It was right at the beginning when the bloody dog dies....reminded me of my old dog who died at a very old age 12 years ago!!!!!!!!

stupid stupid old woman

Badvoc · 26/02/2013 14:40

I cry at a lot of things since having kids.
Toy story 3 was deeply upsetting!

TolliverGroat · 26/02/2013 14:41

Is this the time to start explaining gently to you that ultimately the story doesn't end well for any of the dinosaurs, OP...? Grin

(But, yes, sounds a bit dark for children. I think I'll steer clear!)

timetosmile · 26/02/2013 19:53

I think 3D cinema glasses were specifically invented by a middle aged Mum who had suffered the indignity of public weeping once too often.
Now we just sit incognito as silent tears roll down behind dark glasses...

potsyandco · 26/02/2013 19:57

Ice Age - the bit when it's revealed that Manny the Mammoth's family were killed by hunters, but he still helps the human child.

MissFredi · 12/04/2013 14:25

Not in the slightest OP!!

I once ran out of money, then finished my last packet of cigarettes in the morning, and OH got paid at midnight that day. He thought it would take my mind off it to put family guy DVDs on(fair play to him, I love family guy). Unfortunately, one episode was the episode where the toy factory is taken over by a tobacco company, and normally it's quite a funny episode. At this point however it wasn't the case and I cried my eyes out.

THAT is unreasonable.
