I booked a 10am-2pm slot for delivery and I get a text tonight saying it will be 2pm - 4pm. If i wanted it then i would have booked it! I'm not here after 2.30pm hence not booking an afternoon into evening slot!! GRRRR and its mattresses so can't ask neighbour to take in for me.

Did say that they will ring an hour before, I will have to try to ring them tomorrow and get them to come in the slot I booked and paid £8.95 for.

YANBU to expect your money back. check their T&C's though, they might be allowed to do that for some silly reason.

TimothyClaypoleLover · 25/02/2013 21:54

IME Argos delivery is pretty poor. And at £8.95 you would expect better. I ordered a mattress and they twice failed to deliver it after waiting in and then couldn't deliver it until after I actually needed it. Ended up cancelling the order. AND the customer service people lied to us twice saying it was on its way when it wasn't. 2 wasted days of waiting in for something that never arrived.

mum382013 · 25/02/2013 22:00

just emailed them, yes their t&cs say they can do what they like

Argos delivery service is shocking. Before Christmas they left a parcel on my neighbours doorstop. When it started getting dark I bought it in, and DS1 was going to write a note to put through the door to tell then it was here. When he checked the label to see which person it was for, he noticed it wasn't even for our street!

So the next day I rang Argos, and asked if they could collect the massive boxes as I don't drive. They told me a new delivery had been sent as it was reported undelivered, and they had written off the original! They actually refused to send anyone to collect it!

yanbu

Mspontipine · 26/02/2013 00:09

Ooh IneedAgoldenNickname was it something good? Did you keep it?

Dinkysmummy · 26/02/2013 06:59

Argos once charged me £8.95 without telling me to deliver a £10 item that they didn't stock... It took 4 weeks of battling to get my money back as it was supposed to be free delivery. I hate Argos!

Dinkysmummy · 26/02/2013 06:59

*Sorry, that they didn't stock in store

mum382013 · 26/02/2013 21:21

IneedAgoldenNickname · 26/02/2013 21:28

And yes I've still got it, I dint know quarto do with it tbh. Mum said I should sell it, but it feels kinda wrong

IneedAgoldenNickname · 26/02/2013 21:29

Wtf is auto correct doing?!

I don't know what to do with it!

HollaAtMeBaby · 26/02/2013 21:40

Sell it and give proceeds to charity! Or just give bike to a charity shop - there's probably one near you that can arrange collection.

IneedAgoldenNickname · 26/02/2013 23:23

Good idea to sell and give money to charity, I wouldn't feel so bad about it then!

Pourquoimoi · 26/02/2013 23:42

Inneed - you shouldn't feel guilty. You tried to get them to collect it, they said no, therefore they have pretty much told you to keep it. Nothing to feel at all guilty about. What was it?, could you use it? Or otherwise just sell it.
