There seem to have been a lot of these lately where someone comes on and says "hello ladies, I'm new here (or a long term lurker)and then posts something really goading. I remember one a while back when someone claiming to want to "make friends" posted about someone smoking outside her DC 's school. When she got told she was BU, she added that the woman was pregnant. Then she flounced off saying that we were all really nasty. IThink there should be a rule that you can't start a thread in AIBU until MNHQ have seen references and a CRB check

But I only read AIBU because it is by far the most entertaining section.

Yes, I think even if you are only a lurker, you know which posts will be goady or not, ones which will wind everyone up. I mean threads which are antagonistic, not genuine controversial ones hard to tell the difference I guess, but the 'first time, I'm innocent to all this' is a bit of a giveaway sometimes.

Not really, i came here because the old forum i used died and this is where people were coming too, i now use SN forum and style and beauty as well but im sure i posted first here.

My first post was an AIBU I think, I lurked for about 3 months beforehand and knew that I would get advice from all angles about whatever it was I needed help with. I did, it wasn't goady and very interesting to get different perspectives.
YABabitU but some posts are just put up for a fight/because the OP is a trolling git.

I've been here 2 years and lurked before hand for a while, and I've never started a thread in AIBU.
Apart from the fact I'm never unreasonable , I agree with you OP.
If it looks even slightly goady I Advance Search, and if it's a first time poster too, I usually assume it's the hairy of hand by default.

Are you referring to that woman about the friend's holiday or to me about not washing?

Anyway, I never said I was a lurker, not a poster. I'm a lover, not a fighter or however that song goes.
