Moving house on Tuesday.

Huband done FUCK ALL to help (oh, er, apart from remove all the crap under the house . . . oh and take stuff to the dump . . . er . . . will take Tuesday off to shift all the garden/awkward stuff - BUT APART FROM THAT NOTHING).

Now he's gone off for a 160km bike ride (7 hrs in the saddle and counting) on a 35 degree day. I'm stuck here with the sodding kids who are hot and bored. Not one friend/family member has offered to have them, fuckers.

I'm packing and sorting and hot and tired and fucked off.

AIBU to want to burn the house down and feck off?

YANBU

When we moved we had the removal firm pack for us. It was surprisingly cheap and I would do it again in a heartbeat, especially now that we have children.

Is it a possibility for you? You could always flog a spare bike frame to cover the bill? Wink

Label clearly all boxes as you pack. Keep comfort items for you and the kids in a box marked Priority. Good luck with the move.
Your husband is being a spoilt brat.

Thanks peeps

I'm mostly all packed up Alibaba, although when we moved to Aus from the UK I did get packers and they were brilliant. I though I'd save the $$s this time as I have time to do it and I want to spend the money on a new sofa Grin.

Husb is of the opinion that there's not much else to do - he's prob right as I'm being a bit neurotic about it all, but I still want to kill him.

Also I think he'll die during the bike ride, and if he doesn't I'll kill him. He's been cycling for 71/2 hours now. It's boiling here. He's a fool.

Well then stop being neurotic and take the kids to the beach/swimming pool. You do realise it's snowing here? Envy

I laugh at my sil and bil who run, cycle, swim in this stupid heat. Fools I say, fools!!!

My dh does bog all when we move. He did bog all when we were engaged, and I moved in with him. Sold my house at a huge profit, to reduce his our mortgage now, and where was he??? Fucking go carting. I should have read the signs then, and ran. I've moved three times since, and he hasn't changed, and I have done 95% of the packing Angry

ClaudiaSchiffer · 24/02/2013 03:20

whethergirl good advice, I am taking them to a mates house for a swim, and I can drink wine and bitch about my husband

Longdistance what is it with Australia and its stupid hot weather? Stoopid country.

Cycling and 35 Yikes crazy!
Make sure you don't pack his stuff, hand him some boxes, that are still folded, lose the packing tape and tell him to get cracking, you're moving on Tuesday.
I'm getting pretty good at procrastinating, I'm supposed to be sorting for a move too.

Longdistance · 24/02/2013 05:18

We only get 3 months of silly heat in Perth, then it's quite nice and bearable.

Who would have thought, Australia hot??

My dh has taken dd's to sil's for a swim, whilst I have a snooze :)
