to consider getting this bed

I've spent the past hour drooling over this bed and the possibilities... I am trying to ignore the fact that it's made in the us and that shipping costs will likely be astronomical. I am also trying to ignore the price tag.

Oh I thought it was going to be a lovely, big, sumptuous adult bed Grin

Meh, it's ok but my kids would never have slept...they'd have been up all night bloody playing on it.

It's very pricey for what it is though, have you looked for similar in the UK?

"Fish panels galore"

That's a great way to describe a bit of thin timber with machine cut holes, isn't it? Grin

Grin I had a deprived childhood!! My parents were Co- sleeping hippies and i didn't have my own room till I was 13! Ds is 2 and dd is 4m... I think it's going to be me sliding down that pole all day!

You could always take up private pole dancing to make the monthly credit card payments Grin

You're money would be better spent getting a local carpenter to make you one. It won't cost anywhere near as much.

HeadfirstForHalos · 22/02/2013 00:31

It is expensive! I like this, but don't have the room!

It would be much cheaper to get one made for you

HerRoyalNotness · 22/02/2013 01:32

I was just going to mention that camper van bed, I'd go for it if I let the kids have kiddie rooms, fantastic

LayMizzRarb · 22/02/2013 10:53

I'm sure if you took a picture of it to a local carpenter they could make you something similar for half the cost.
was the first result I got when I googled hand made kids beds
I bet they would make a great version of it!
Bear in mind when buying an unusual bed, how much of a pain will changing the bed be? And will it be easy enough to comfort kids who are unwell at night?

LayMizzRarb · 22/02/2013 11:10

are much nicer than the American pirate beds and some of the beds start from 1200 euros.

Skinnywhippet · 22/02/2013 12:48

If I had that money to spend on a child's bedroom I would be getting a really lovely double sleigh bed for them. I'm not really keen on that bed, but it is unusual.
