Bit geeky this I know but had to go I to Apple today with the iPad my in-laws bought DS six months ago. DS is autistic but loves time on the iPad as he uses it for relaxation, reading stuff about his favourite topics, homework and communication/social skills stuff.
Anyhow, over the past few weeks it has been difficult to charge so I went into Apple just to ask them to have a look at it. They were absolutely brilliant, very knowledgable and to my unending shame took loads of muck out of the connector which has obviously caused the issue. Then when this did not work they replaced the iPad with a new one! This was despite it obviously being our fault that the iPad was playing up.
Anyhow, new own up and running and DS will be banned from it while anywhere near food. I might even pop a strip of Sellotape over the connector while he is using it.
Thank you to them...I felt really embarrassed when I realised what the issue was.
