I just called my dh a donut. I wrote 'you do it' & my phone changed it. It used to be funny but is getting on my nerves now. My grammar is quite good I think. Ive had to resend texts to people so many times! It only happens on my iphone. I dont remember having these problems before I switched! Its not just me is it?

To turn it off it is Settings then General then Keyboard and then turn autocorrection to off.

Brilliant link. I have frightened the bejesus out of the dog with the hysterical laughter that it brought on!

greenandcabbagelooking · 14/02/2013 14:20

I signed a professional e-mail with the wrong name due to autocorrect. That looked good...

ScarletLady02 · 14/02/2013 14:21

It is funny, I don't often actually "LOL" as in "laugh out loud" but a few of those resulted in tea spraying over the laptop Grin

Pandemoniaa · 14/02/2013 14:22

Agree. I think they actually warranted a ROFL - and I'm normally hugely intolerant of a LOL!

erowid · 14/02/2013 14:26

I know texts, forum posts and sometimes emails are quite instantaneous, but does no-one proof read what they have just written before sending any more?

notnagging · 14/02/2013 14:26

My baby is looking at me with a big grin on his face because I've clearly lost itGrin

OP posts:
notnagging · 14/02/2013 14:27

It's not like that ero. It sometimes does it just as you press send!

Bunnyjo · 14/02/2013 14:29

I have a Samsung Galaxy and I use the Swype function to text and you can add words to the dictionary so I've added arse, bugger and other such silly words. One morning I got a very pissy text from a friend, turned out she had announced her pregnancy on FB and my DS (18mth at the time) had managed to comment with the word 'arse' on her announcement... Oh the shame Blush

babiesinslingsgetcoveredinfood · 14/02/2013 14:30

Yadnbu (or tad by as my phone just decided I meant?!)

I can touch type and when my eyes are tired I don't proof read. Some of my posts on here are incoherent thanks to sodding apple.

My ds replied with 'help' on my dh's phone when his boss text to say he had a last minute conference callSmile

Its not a piece of technology's fault if people don't bother to make their communication coherent.

I think people are just a little too quick to hit send.
