shoe bronzing for my ds's first shoes? Basically its a cast of their first shoe, has anyone here done it and is it worth it do you think?

Why not just keep the shoe?

SorryMyLollipop · 11/02/2013 21:23

Why would you? Just keep the actual shoes.

MoppingMummy · 11/02/2013 21:24

I just kept their first shoes.

bedmonster · 11/02/2013 21:24

What do you do with it? Confused

parrotsandcarsnips · 11/02/2013 21:26

bedmonster I am not that sure tbh but i guess its like an ornamental thing?

Just keep the shoes Grin

pookamoo · 11/02/2013 21:31

Just frame them?

Fakebook · 11/02/2013 21:31

I think they look quite cute, but I spent around £30 on Dd's and ds's first shoes and I wouldn't pay another £45 to have them bronzed like that. I also wouldn't put them on my mantelpiece or shelf. It's up to you. Waste of money IMO.

Grin

FITZGERALD you made me laugh but no its was for both my dc!
I have asked friends and family what they wish they had done differently with their young families and one told me they regretted not getting the first shoe bronzed so I was considering whether it was that important to me?

I'm hoping they fit DS as they are gender neutral and she wore them bloody twice

bedmonster · 11/02/2013 21:39

Grin Fitz!

Er, well, if you can afford the £45 and you think they will make you happy in some way, then do it. It seems a bit odd to me, but then I haven't kept any of my DC old clothes/shoes/first curl/teeth/birth bracelets/cord clip/swimming costume etc (all things one of my SILs kept of her DDs!, bloody mentalist!), so I wouldn't personally.

Up to you though eh?

parrotsandcarsnips · 11/02/2013 21:44

I am sentimental it seems, I have kept dc's birth bracelet, first vest, going home from hospital outfits and first coat. From the feedback here I think the money could be better spent TBH and I will go to ikea for the frames to put shoes in

YAB VERY U.

TBH I find them a bit tacky. I am not a sentimental person but I have kept a few items of baby clothes.
