I thought it might be irreverant and funny, but oh my effing jeff - WTF is all this about??? Now of course morbid fascination has set in - does this get better? worse?

I don't get it either. Am I missing the point?

newgirl · 06/02/2013 22:21

Thought two female carers nice but as if they were in another show

picard476 · 06/02/2013 22:28

I like it, I think he is brilliant at writing female characters

tetleymel · 06/02/2013 22:29

it's excellent. humorous, poignant and sensitive. great female characters too.

NumericalMum · 06/02/2013 22:30

Is that the Ricky gervais rubbish? Managed one minute then changed to the news. Utter shite!

Piemother · 06/02/2013 23:00

Yep one minute here too. Didn't want to hang around to see if he was actually taking the mick out of folk with ld? I dunno if he was I didn't watch any more. I hated the office though so maybe not for me anyway

out2lunch · 06/02/2013 23:02

I loved it tonight -thought it was really touching

LadyBeagleEyes · 06/02/2013 23:03

I thought it was a gentle and sweet portrayal of people with LD.
I loved it.

MyDarlingClementine · 06/02/2013 23:07

There was a line I saw yesterday when a man was asking to get Derek tested in a hospital to see if he had LD,

Derek - "If I am 'tistic, will it change me in anyway... will I be the same person" "Yes"
"Don't worry about it then"

I am not sure what to make of it yet, but that line was class.

frustratedworkingmum · 06/02/2013 23:18

I think if it hadn't been RG i might have quite liked it, but i have always found him to be a piss taking cunt so can't quite put him together with a sensitive depiction of LD and people needing care. I found it hard to watch as my dad had dementia but i like how the young girl on community service came good. That was possibly a bit niave though.

Yep, utter rubbish.

HarrietSchulenberg · 06/02/2013 23:52

Ex-H loves it and he used to work with adults with LDs for years. He reckons it's not dissimilar to his own experiences in that area. I just don't like Ricky Gervais so can't even bring myself to try watching it.
