I'm nearly 40, ttc and feel I might have succeeded this month as showing a few symptoms but won't find out for definite for nearly a week when AF is due.

I've had flu for two days. Feel like 7 shades of shit, ache everywhere, temp 38.7c, can barely shuffle round the house. Taking paracetamol every four hours in effort to 'do the right thing' just in case I'm pg as apparently ibuprofen can lead to birth defects/miscarriage if taken in early preg according to a brief look on google.

As of the last 12 hours I'm staring at a pack of cold and flu tablets and thinking sod it I'll take them. Might not even be pg..... Advice please as my brain is mush and I'm incapable of deciding.

Until about 8 weeks you won't even share a blood stream with your embryo so stuff you take is not likely to have much of an effect at all.

Just think of all the suprise pregnancy stories you great about the Mum to be not realising she was upduffed and so go out drinking etc. by and large those babies turn out just fine.

See that's what I thought.
Should never have googled it. Scared me.
And then I told DH which is not the wisest move as where men are concerned little knowledge is dangerous
