No! Don't ditch the diet! Just put a bad day (we all have them) behind you and look ahead!

I've been dieting for 2 years now (lots 125lbs) and there are bad days because we're human and have blips. It's how you deal with it afterwards that counts.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon x

Why are you dieting with a cold?

Yep YABU

You are on day 2....don't start making excuses already.

SW is a great diet, there is loads you can eat.

Draw a line under it and start again, right now!! Don't be looking for justification to pig out, you are only cheating yourself.

Feed a cold starve a fever is an old wives tale. There is no reason you can't diet with a cold!

crabbiepattie · 04/02/2013 13:40

Ugh ur right ladies. I was about to fall asleep with lack of sugar though!! And with 2 year old dtgs and a 3and a half year old ds to pick up from pre school at 3pm, its not ideal. My house is a tip :-( heating is on full and im still freezing!! Head all cotton woolly and tgrobbing :-(

Im just lazy :-(

Aww. Paracetamol and soup, stuff the housework today.

AbbyCat · 04/02/2013 13:52

Definitely don't ditch it! We had flu last week and I ditched ww and managed to put on what I lost the previous week. Don't worry about little blips though, the key is to identify what triggered it and to try to overcome it and develop other coping strategies if you're an emotional eater. Easier said than done though as often the only way I can cope with having 2 under 2 is to have chocolate!

LaurieFairyCake · 04/02/2013 14:07

Sorry, I posted that one line by accident and then went off to do something Smile

I meant to add that if you feel dreadful it might be really difficult to focus on weight loss rather than focus on getting better - cough sweets, lemsips, benylin all have calories in them that might interfere with a weight loss programme but might make you feel so much better coping with a cold.

If you eat a bunch of crap, you will still have a cold!

Eat a pile of free fruit and veg and you will boost your vit c as well as sticking to diet. Unless of course you are looking for an excuse to pig out, in which case it's your choice......just don't kid yourself its because you 'need to' due to a cold!

crabbiepattie · 04/02/2013 15:09

Crap eaten and episode put to one side. Will eat only good stuff from now on!!

Soup - that's what you need. Nourishing and comforting, but fits very nicely with diet. Home made lentil - onions, potatoes, carrots, celery, red lentils, veg stock. No syns at all!
