AIBU in thinking that 'poof-ing' threads has become epidemic around here?

Has the Big Red Button got stuck or something? Have they put gin in the water fountain at Mumsnet Towers? Are they being bribed? Is there some competition that I have missed to see who can get the most threads deleted?

My theory is the mnhq are overworked.
Once they hit 10 deleted messages they weigh up watching a thread all night deleting every other thread or deleting the whole thing and getting on the gin.

No contest.
