AIBU to be a nervous driver on dark roads!?

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and 39yo. I passed my test first time at 17 and have always enjoyed driving, been confident and had no smashes/tickets etc in 22years.

Since my BFP I've lost all confidence (and spatial awareness) behind the wheel and last night was driving to pick up an eBay item and got unreasonably scared driving on dark roads.

Have I turned into a lily livered wuss and weirdo or am I normal? Will it ever be better again? Please tell me IABU and to get a bloody grip! Thanks x

I was going to say YABU and get a grip but you are in the rush of ludicrous hormones and your fear is probably a bit of displaced nervousness about the birth and impending change in your life. Just take it easy and relax as much as poss. I don't know about better, but things will change for sure - I was the most unsentimental person and when I was pg with DS I sobbed at that little girl on Brtiain's got Talent who forgot her words and got another chance. Was mortified with myself but have had to accept it. I cried in front of the whole pre-school at DS's Christmas concert when he sang on his own Blush.

mm... I think yanbu but do it anyway if you want to get more confident. You need to be more on your toes on dark roads.
