We have it. My DH and the kids think it is great. I think what a complete waste of £99.

WhateverTrevor · 26/01/2013 14:05

What is it?

JustCallMeBaldrick · 26/01/2013 14:06

We love ours :-)

mrssmooth · 26/01/2013 14:07

We've got it. (In fact we've got 2 [embarrassed] .. but don't think we paid £99 for both of them) It's great! We've got films, music, photos etc all on the pc, which can be streamed through the tv via apple (I think that's how it works). I would say go for it - films we've downloaded via apple can be watched on the ipad/pod if you've got one (a great way to get the kids to bed/out of the front room when you want some peace & quiet!)

We've got Apple TV, had it for years and love it.

As already mentioned, we use it to watch films on iTunes and listen to music. We also view our photos on it.

We use it to watch Netflix, YouTube and listen to radio stations.
It can be controlled with iPad/iPhone/iPod touch and you can use airplay to view things on the tv that are on your iPad.

The latest Apple TV is cheaper at amazon and other online retailers. The older ones are more expensive as they can be jail broken. I was tempted to sell mine for a profit and buy a new one as I have no desire to jailbreak mine, but never got around to it.

We like ours. It is mostly used to play music from the computer when we are in the sitting room and w have a screensaver of our photos.

We've got one - bought it as a Xmas treat!
Is brilliant as I've got loads of films on my iPad but with 5 children, it often causes fights. Now we can stream them and watch them on the telly.
My girls love recording videos and streaming them to the TV too!
You can also split the TV screen in 2 so that you can watch normal TV on one side, and then have your iPad screen on the other - I can't really remember why this is helpful, but I'm sure there are many reasons! Grin

I thought about getting one but our smart blu ray streams films and gets us Internet access etc.

Spookey80 · 26/01/2013 15:05

Bump

Spookey80 · 26/01/2013 15:06

Have got one. Currently only use it to watch films which is good as blockbuster is closing down! Do you have buy something to do 'AirPlay' thing?

Snowingagain · 26/01/2013 15:36

£82 at amazon when I just checked, it was £99 in apple shop when I checked just after Xmas. I'm quite tempted to get one as its a good way (rather than just on ipad) to watch films if more than one person wants to view them.

iluvsummer · 26/01/2013 18:09

Well we've gone and got it really easy to set up and seems quite good so far!
