As an antidote to a depressing earlier thread, to cheer ourselves up a week from pay day, and to take our minds off the bleak weather :

Name ONE thing, that happened to you today that made you happy.
Me? DH called just before he left work and said 'don't bother cooking, I'll pick up fish and chips and we can have a bottle of wine with it' ( we have a a gorgeous proper chippy nearby, but only have them about once a month)
So what little (or big) thing made you smile today?

My 7 month old ds has just looked me square in the face and said mama they reached for a cuddle!

The man across the back from us finally realised that I can see straight into his bathroom from my back windows when he puts the light on. He grabbed a towel and the light switch DDQ but only after he'd given me yet another full frontal flash Grin.

My dds have gone on sleepovers.

Dss are also out and don't need lifts.

My dh has opened the wine and its Friday so lie in.

Paradise....

catgirl1976 · 25/01/2013 18:28

My DH picked me up from work with DS beaming at me from the back of the car :)

3monkeys3 · 25/01/2013 18:31

My dc are dancing to that song at the moment in their ballet class - so cute! That's happy enough in itself, but I also just took delivery of 3 new cookbooks (typo cockbooks then, but saw in time!) and have my own car back all lovely and fixed (and shiny) after managing with a hire car that just doesn't quite work for us for over a week!

3monkeys3 · 25/01/2013 18:32

So sorry! Just saw I was only allowed one!

Sunnywithshowers · 25/01/2013 18:33

My cat has been very, very affectionate. And my DH is cooking a roast tonight :)

TinTinsSexySister · 25/01/2013 18:33

Because I am an idiot I left my bag (wallet, phone, house keys he lot) in the trolley in Sainsbos and didn't realise until I got back home.

Had to drive back in a panic - 17 mo DD crying in the back because she hates the car AND I only passed my test in November. I was convinced I was going to crash with the panic and when I got there there were no parking spaces, so I had to stalk a lady and get into a really tight spot. Worst parking by anyone ever.

But...

...a nice lady had handed in my bag and I got everything back!

Thank you nice lady, if you are reading this have a Wine from me.

Grin

Go on - if you have more than one, name it! My cousin has just announced she is pregnant with no 4. Fab news. She has DD 12 and 10 and DD 1' so the newest will make a lovely playmate for her youngest [bsmile]

My gorgeous little 8 day old DS snuggling into me in one side and my equally gorgeous 21 month old DD snuggling into me the other. They both make me so happy.

Pilfette · 25/01/2013 18:58

My DD (14) has just sent me a text to safety say that she has navigated her way to Camden safely, has met up with her boyfriend and the support band are ace, but she's still stoked to see the main band. I'm having a wibble as she's going to the venue that I clubbed at during my goth 20s. I'm all teary but v happy that she's safe!

Ullena · 25/01/2013 19:04

My niece has invited me to visit her in Spain, I just need to pay for the flights Grin Everything else is free...wonderful young woman!

Hmm...I have just become the eccentric aunt with large dogs and lots of cats, haven't I?

mum47 · 25/01/2013 19:07

Lovely dh is in the kitchen making a home-made pizza for us and has just come through and handed me a large glass of red...

redexpat · 25/01/2013 19:26

I found a text book for my course on an online bookshop. Including delivery it was cheaper than the second hand price for the book alone!

SageYourResoluteOracle · 25/01/2013 19:32

Ooh! A warm and fuzzy thread!

Mine are: spending the day with DD at Kew gardens with her two wee friends (and two of my closet friends); deciding to take a new job that I've been offered which represents a big, scary career change but will mean I get to be with DD during the day; coming home to the scent of DH's amazing curry.

BumpingFuglies · 25/01/2013 19:34

Thank you OP, I needed this after an awful day! Thanks

DSS1 came up to me and snuggled in to me. I melted Smile

Lovely DH you have Op and mum47

BumpingFuglies · 25/01/2013 19:35

Ah, this is lovely everyone!

ShiftyFades · 25/01/2013 19:43

I've got flu and am coughing so much that I am being sick.
DS (4) is on ABs for ear infections and has a cough too. When he saw me being ill in the bathroom he climbed up the fridge (one of those American type ones) and got his ABs, brought them to me and said "have my medicine mummy, you're poorly" Smile

DH brought my "poorly food" home with him: microwave buttery mash Smile

Just hope I can keep it down Sad

ShiftyFades · 25/01/2013 19:44

ABs are now at the back of the top shelf!!

LayMizzRarb · 25/01/2013 20:58

Anyone else smiled today?

My much loved, over used Kindle has broken. My DH came home tonight with a new Kindle Fire for me. Smile

Fakebook · 25/01/2013 21:17

DS said "thank you" three times everytime dd gave him a piece of her biscuit. He's actually using the word appropriately! Now I'm grinning again.

FarelyKnuts · 25/01/2013 21:54

My DD 3yo actually put her arms around my neck for a cuddle and said I love you sooo much Mama. Usually she is quite passive in cuddling and doesnt tend to put her arms around, just lets herself be hugged. So I was pretty chuffed :o

fackinell · 25/01/2013 22:08

Friends sis found out her suspected MC wasn't one Grin (all the more poignant as I should have been due next wk.)

Lovely to hear someone else's good news.

BumpingFuglies · 25/01/2013 22:30

fack good for friend's sis Smile but Sad for you. x
