Has to be the underneath of a sofa surely?

Is there any other place more likely to attract all manner of small toys, socks, hairbrushes, remote controls, keys and unidentified food.

Why when they invented sofas did they not think of the impact the underneath would have on our lives?

Mine is revolting. I have been trying to build myself up to moving it & clearing everything out, but I just can't face it yet.

I'm waiting for Professor Brian Cox to come and do a documentary about the underneath of my sofa.

Startail · 26/01/2013 00:14

Double beds are even worse.
You wouldn't believe the number of pens, crayons, playmobile ripple, bits of Lego, barbie clothes, bits of paper, sweet wrappers, build-a-bear bits, socks, hair clips and other assorted crap DD2 has hidden over the years in the tiny gap under a double divan.

Startail · 26/01/2013 00:14

Ripple??? People

Startail · 26/01/2013 00:16

Not to mention shoes and slippers, often not even hers! DD1 manages to lose her stuff under there too.

Cailinsalach · 26/01/2013 00:18

My little dog has a den under my bed. He hides bones and bits of toast and toys there. Comparatively speaking, the underneath of my sofa is pristine.
Comparatively.......

AgentZigzag · 26/01/2013 00:22

We've got hard floors and if the remote gets kicked under and retrieving it brings out a load of dust/dog hair, I just kick it back under Blush

Although it does have it's upside.

All of 3 YO DD2 noisy toys are under there Grin

If she spots them I just tell her she'll have to wait for Daddy to come home and get it out, she's forgotten by the time he does Grin

YABU the most annoying thing ever is the area under my 7 month old dd's chin. So small a space, so much gunk Confused

Dreamerstate · 26/01/2013 00:26

Worst thing I found when I pulled out my settee was a dead mouse! I screamed, ran upstairs and spent the entire day up there until DP came home from work, saw the "mouse" and told me it was in fact a toy catnip mouse that I'd bought for my cat years ago and completely forgotten about - I felt SO foolish!!!

Oh, and I always seem to find peas down the settee, regardless whether we've eaten peas or not (?!)

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 26/01/2013 00:28

Grin at toy catnip mouse!

mum11970 · 26/01/2013 00:30

I've got half a dog under mine. With 4 dogs and laminate floor I could fill a cushion with the tumbleweed of fur that collects under mine. Luckily my kids are too old to spend anytime on the floor and poking under sofas, unless the sky remote is missing.

EggNogKnockers · 26/01/2013 00:34

YADNBU!

I spent the good part of 20 sodding minutes on my belly with a torch under the sofas this evening looking for 5 bloody Beetle Bugs!

Did I find them? Did I buggery!

AgentZigzag · 26/01/2013 00:36

'I've got half a dog under mine.'

The dog's alive, isn't it? Shock

Grin
