DS is 4 almost 5 and in reception. The nursery is split from his class but they have an open plan kind of thing with the second class and open the nursery to everyone to mingle too (I love how the EYFS works). So many parents make an effort to turn up on days we're invited in, they ALL seem lovely. All the kids are great and they all seem to have a really good time and get along. We've had a few problem with DS' behaviour and a bit of miscommunication between me and the teachers (they job share so never easy). Been in yesterday for a char and arranged a meeting next week to iron out a few issues. I really feel that we're on the same page as far as DS is concerned. They all seem to really care about the kids, are always very smiley and happy.
So my point, you ask?
I am constantly hearing and reading (in all aspects of my life) bitching and moaning about schools/teachers. I know they are only human and some will be horrid (I had a few when in school) but surely, if you handing your precious bundles over to these people for 6+ hours a day, five days a week it is not better to have a good, open, working relationship with them? These teachers are helping to raise my son, the last thing I want to do is alienate them. so AIBU to feel so positive about it?
