I work in a Valleys school in Wales and the weather has been atrocious since yesterday evening. It was bad on Friday and we closed. We were in yesterday [Monday] and about 3/4 of our children came in. We were off today due to the snow, ice etc plus buses were cancelled by LEAs. Buses have been cancelled tomorrow too. Dont know if we are closed yet but I want to be in work tomorrow. I have marked the books I have with me and done some paperwork but I am going to be broke if I go to the shops again! Where I live there is no snow!

Yanbu. The school I work at often gets snow, but we don't. I spend the day marking, planning and assessing. It's often a godsend getting that extra time

Is there any way of you offering your services to a different school that is staying open? Our local hospitals did that last time it was this bad

We cant do that Slim Jim as we are not covered regards CRB checks etc...I would have loved to have gone to my sons school and dazzled them with my skills in the hope that they would give me a job as it is ten mins away from my house instead of the 45 mins now!

I have planned, marked, packed for our ski trip to France at half term - we are taking 60 children with us!

After no snow since Friday it is coming down really heavily...oh the irony if school was open and I was snowed in!
