It makes me feel a bit sick haha and I'm not quite sure why.

It get's used on every other thread here so there's just no escaping it.

It always makes me laugh, as I immediately picture my cat proudly displaying his bum - he has the worst habit of leaping into my bed for a cuddle, nuzzling into my neck, then turning round, tail up and bum in the face.

To be fair though I don't understand what a person with a cat's bum mouth would look like. Can't quite equate a cat's arse to a person's facial expression at all!

SanityClause · 21/01/2013 19:04

I love it, and have used it to describe MIL people long before I knew about Mumsnet

CheerMum · 21/01/2013 19:07

Don't talk to me about feckin cat's bums. Dd has a kitten, he has the squits, he needs cleaning (a right messy arse). Bastard fecking cat BIT ME!

ParisButterfly · 21/01/2013 19:07

I imagine pursed lips? I'm not quite sure though ..

"cats bum" doesn't have the desired effect imo.

Now "cat's arse"...

BillyBollyDandy · 21/01/2013 19:11

I use "sucking lemons" face

lippi · 21/01/2013 19:12

I would use "a face like a cats arse", it me it means someone with pursed lips who is not a bit pleased with what their looking at.

elizaregina · 21/01/2013 19:14

no yanbu - horrid phrase!

needtogetoffsofa · 21/01/2013 19:16

l love it - anyone who looks like Edna (?) on Emmerdale. It's usually me though when I'm moaning at the DC/DH/kids at work!!

Hemlet · 21/01/2013 19:17

cat's bum face

Backtobedlam · 21/01/2013 19:22

YANBU-I always say 'dogs bum face' like in the Twits.

needtogetoffsofa · 21/01/2013 19:26

ooh Hemlet I think that's me Shock. Don't remember signing permission for for my photo to be used!!

TheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 21/01/2013 19:26

YABU, its a perfect description, I've described people's 'catsbummouth' expressions for years before seeing it on MN. Still makes me :) when I see it as I know exactly the impression the poster is trying to convey.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 21/01/2013 19:32

I came on here to say Edna from Emmerdale but see I'm not alone. I think it is a very good description of that particular facial expression.

maras2 · 21/01/2013 19:32

I like it as I know what a cat's bum looks like.Roald Dahl referred to that look as 'A dog's bottom' < George's Marvelous Medicine >

Hemlet · 21/01/2013 19:33

Maybe we're cat bum twins sofa! ;-)

Backtobedlam · 21/01/2013 19:34

Ahh, gorgeous marvellous medicine, I thought it was the twits...long time since I've read any Roald Dahl.

Backtobedlam · 21/01/2013 19:35

George's Marvellous Medicine (not gorgeous as autocorrected)!
