Snow is really thick/deep but plenty of crunchy stuff so not overly slippy.

how old?

Reaa · 21/01/2013 14:01

Depends on age?

Bluemonkeyspots · 21/01/2013 14:01

Sorry posted to soon, the roads are far worse and even though the main roads are gritted I have a large scheme to get out of then another large scheme at school, neither have been gritted and I have a baby and toddler to put in the car if i go out.

Dc are 9&11 sensible and the only main road has a crossing. They are dressed in full ski suits/boots.

It will be ok won't it? Confused

If they are 5 and 6 YABU. If they are in their thirties not so much...

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 21/01/2013 14:03

Sorry X-post. I think YANBU given their ages.

Bluemonkeyspots · 21/01/2013 14:04

I did tell them this morning they would have to walk home as the snow was due to get worse and they were fine with it, said they would wait on each other and walk up and the 11 year old walks every morning.

I'm just having a wobble now it's getting near pick up time.

In their 30s Grin

Reaa · 21/01/2013 14:04

It sounds the safer option to me

Iwantacampervan · 21/01/2013 14:05

I would let them especially as they are together and if you can get a message to school to tell them to do this.

lljkk · 21/01/2013 14:07

sounds fine, they'll have fun.

Bluemonkeyspots · 21/01/2013 14:14

Yes I will phone the school and confirm with dc1 I won't be there and to come right home.

I told dc1 to take her phone with her today and of course it's lying in her room!!!

Yeah they will be fine - especially in all the right ski gear.
I've been out walking for hours in mine. Love it, and so will they.

scaevola · 21/01/2013 14:20

Just remember to add snowballing time onto journey time before you start worrying why they're not home Grin

Bluemonkeyspots · 21/01/2013 14:21

I'll be a nervous wreck till they are home but i suppose it will be safer.

Will get some hot choc and marshmallows on the go for when they get in Grin

Reaa · 21/01/2013 17:05

Are they home now OP?

Bluemonkeyspots · 21/01/2013 19:49

Yes they got home fine, perfect timing for the hot chocolate being ready!

They have been out ever since playing in the snow. There was me worried the walk home in the cold would be to much Grin
