'All I want to do is work, earn some money and better myself!! Whist there are dole bums out there who can only just about be bothered to walk to the job centre every other week to sign on!!'

YABU to come out with crap like that.

catgirl1976 · 20/01/2013 18:27

Could you not get 2 days work done over 7, fitting it in around naps and after her bedtime given you are freelance and it's OU?

Fakebook · 20/01/2013 18:28

You are absolutely right!! Those fucking dole bums!! There should be something out there for hardworking people like us!!!!1111111111111111 bloody arseholes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'11111111111

dizzylizzi · 20/01/2013 18:29

I do that already, and have help with childcare where i can from MIL and DM.

And No ripsishere, Im not a troll!! I just genuinely thought that there might be some sort of help out there for people in my situation. A tad bit optimistic I think :-(

Yabu presumably you are a self sufficient family and as such there is no need for others to fund your choices. People on benefits need it to live. How much tax do you think people would have to pay to fund this idea?

Ilovesunflowers · 20/01/2013 18:46

YABU. Why should I fund your lifestyle choices? Or imagine a working single parent who is struggling to buy their child shoes. Why should they fund you 'bettering yourself?'

DizzyZebra · 20/01/2013 18:49

Well aren't you a little ray of sunshine. Dole bums. Nice.

dizzylizzi · 20/01/2013 18:51

who would you rather fund? a heroin addict on the dole or someone who wants to further their career and become a teacher?!!

OP posts:
Lorelailovesluke · 20/01/2013 18:53

I would rather fund those in need of assistance than those who just want it.

Ilovesunflowers · 20/01/2013 18:53

So everyone who claims is a heroin addict? Nice attitude there dizzylizzi.

dizzylizzi · 20/01/2013 18:55

did I say that?? NO!!

OP posts:
CloudsAndTrees · 20/01/2013 18:56

Don't you already get child tax credits? Use that to pay for childcare, that's what they're for.

Ilovesunflowers · 20/01/2013 18:57

You implied it. Your attitude it utterly disgusting.

Ilovesunflowers · 20/01/2013 18:57

*is

blueraincoat · 20/01/2013 18:58

I think Lorelai has it summed up perfectly.

ihearsounds · 20/01/2013 18:58

So you know the reason why every person is claiming benefits? No you don't. Yabvvu to assume that claimants are lazy or addicts.

Ilovesunflowers · 20/01/2013 18:59

I agree bluerain and Lorelai.

ihearsounds · 20/01/2013 19:00

Oh and fyi, if you bothered to find this out, you would know that the OU do bursarys to help with childcare and other expenses. But it is far too easy to make sweeping generalizations.. If you had been bothered to find out, you would also realise that there is help for working parents out there.

greenbananas · 20/01/2013 19:03

Lots of people in my neighbourhood claiming 'dole', many of them also working, studying and trying to better themselves. Most understand that benefits are means tested. I may not agree with current Tory policies on exacty who and who isn't 'deserving' but I'm afraid that if you don't meet the current criteria you are just going to have to do the best you can on the money you ahve available Sad

dizzylizzi · 20/01/2013 19:05

ihearsounds That's all I wanted, before I was attacked by the MN bullies!!
