Sister Pictures

For many years now, I've sat and watch my younger sisters take pictures of themselves over and over again. Posing this way and that way. They are very slender and attractive. On the rare occasion they will ask me to join. So, I do... We take one/two, and when I walk away, they continue their photo session. It doesn't matter who is around either. Then they post these pictures on their facebook. I'm never part of the picture...

I'm tired of it. Am I being unreasonable to be hurt? It feels like since I am larger and not as attractive that they don't want me to ruin their picture.

I could be sitting right next to them, and they will take pictures and not include me.

My sister says I am over reacting and she would never be upset if it was her. She would jump right in and take pictures with us, and no harm done. I said, it would be NO big deal if it happened once in a while... but ALL the time!?? She says, when we dress up we like to take pictures! Okay, I was dressed up that day and feeling pretty good...guess I don't count.?

If we are all invited to someone's house for a special occasion, they never take pictures of everyone else, and the activities. They just do this photo session in front of everyone with just themselves. I think it's rude. They don't include anyone that's there.

I'm so sick of them talking about how I was a model and weighed Xamount... GEE, that was almost 30 years ago!! Guess if I weighed that, and looked that way I would be included in their sister pictures... Sad

I said, if you guys want to do this Sister Photo Session, then do it on your own time...esp. since it doesn't matter it bothers me, and makes everyone else feel uncomfortable.....

Am I being unreasonable?

They sound self centred and shallow. Why would you want to be like that?

valiumredhead · 17/01/2013 16:22

Eh? Confused Grin

NoTeaForMe · 17/01/2013 16:23

How old are they and how old are you?

NoelHeadbands · 17/01/2013 16:24

Really?

Pandemoniaa · 17/01/2013 16:24

Do you really want to take part in what sounds like a dire teenage photoshoot?

manicbmc · 17/01/2013 16:25

Bloody hell, OP! Are they 14? Do they do 'duck' faces as well? Grin

Pandemoniaa · 17/01/2013 16:26

I bet they do the duck face and the pointy finger thing too.

Aspiemum2 · 17/01/2013 16:26

I'm with Valium!

Mother2many · 17/01/2013 16:31

LOLOL... Well, I'm in my 40's and one sister is 39, other is 29.

It just would be nice to be included in a few pictures so I can proudly display too.

You guys made me chuckle... Your right. They are acting immature. They don't do the duck face, but sit soo seriously... PHONY in my eyes.

Okay....okay... just walk away from their childish behavior...and maybe suggest that they can do it in a different room, as the rest of us are trying to enjoy ourselves! lololol

I actually thought you meant your sisters were teens! Shock

Mother2many · 17/01/2013 16:33

My 39yr sis, worries about her wrinkles, and both worry about their tummy. (oh, please...what tummy! LOL)

Instead of thinking I'm too ugly to be included, I should look at it differently...

OP posts:
Pandemoniaa · 17/01/2013 16:34

Definitely look at it differently, OP! You are choosing to step aside while they make buffoons of themselves. Which is dignified and discerning!

manicbmc · 17/01/2013 16:35

Look at it this way, OP. You're too intelligent to be included. Wink

EarlyInTheMorning · 17/01/2013 16:37

This is just plain bizarre

Mother2many · 17/01/2013 16:41

Thanks for the heartfelt hugs... I needed that... Thanks

Tragic. I don't know anyone who still posts posing photos on FB over age 25. And it's still bloody annoying at that age.

thebody · 17/01/2013 16:46

Good grief, my dds do this and the duck face but are 13 and 12!!

Laugh at them and tell them to grow the fuck up!!

Bit sad to define yourself by your looks because these will surely go and what's left then?

Mother2many · 17/01/2013 16:48

Yes, kinda pathetic... AND, they hold the camera, Iphone or whatever, in their own hands... guess it's good they don't ask anyone else to take them!~ lol Prob about 50 pictures, then they go through EVERY ONE, and scrutinized each pose...and end up with 2. Then post them.... big chance the one I'm in isn't one of the proudly displayed... Grin

Be thankful for that!
