Ds is ill, he cant get off the sofa been to the doctors he is on antibotics, nurofen and calpol. he has tonsillitis and a server Cold/flu.

There is no way i can pick dd without taking DS as he is only 6. I havent got anyone who can pick her up for me so my only other option is to keep her off.

I could perhaps put DS in dd buggy, but i think if his school friend see him he could be teased about it.

What would you do.

Get a cab, ask it to wait outside whilst you collect DD and then get the cab to take you home. Failing that, call the school and see if they can help?

LiegeAndLief · 16/01/2013 17:47

I had similar problem yesterday. I put 6 yo ds in the buggy. My god he was heavy... Not much danger of any of his friends seeing though where we were.

The nursery is attached to the school and they finish the same time.

It's only nursery.
It's not going to affect her that much if she has a few days off.

ChristmasJubilee · 16/01/2013 17:52

Could a friend or neighbour stay with ds whilst you drop off and pick up dd. if it is too difficult just keep her home.

fourfingerkitkat · 16/01/2013 17:54

If it's easier for you to keep her off nursery then why not do that ? I've kept one child off nursery in the past when the other was sick if it meant saving the wee one from getting dragged in and out of cars etc when they felt bad. It would be different if she was missing school time but it's nursery...

littlemisssunny · 16/01/2013 17:55

I would keep her off nursery, your son won't want to be moved around if he is ill and a few days off won't hurt.

JeeanieYuss · 16/01/2013 18:03

LadyMary maybe not everyone can afford a taxi..

rubyslippers · 16/01/2013 18:04

i would keep your DD off nursery and all stay at home

LadyMaryChristmas · 16/01/2013 18:06

I know that. Sometimes there's no other option though.

Pancakeflipper · 16/01/2013 18:10

I wouldn't do nursery unless I my lovely neighbour would sit with poorly child whilst I did nursery run.

wigglesrock · 16/01/2013 18:37

I've done it too, kept a nursery aged child off so as not to move an older sick child. I don't think its that big a deal. You have my sympathies re your ds, my dd2 (5) has recurrent tonsillitis - she's very miserable Sad Hope he gets better soon.

Tailtwister · 16/01/2013 19:04

Definitely keep her off. It's only nursery and your son won't want to be moved about.

McNewPants2013 · 16/01/2013 20:15

going to keep her off.
