AIBU to expect The Beano to write to us a bit quicker...

...so that when they tell us that DS's picture of Dennis the Menace has been published in the issue dated 5 Jan, it would still be on sale so we can buy it?!!

We got a letter from them last Saturday (12 Jan), but the 5 Jan issue had already been removed from the shops from Tuesday 9 Jan. DS sent in his pic last September, and we did buy several issues after that but we don't buy a comic every week because it's more of an occasional treat. He's chuffed to get the letter but it would've been really nice to see the actual issue in question.

We've contacted the Beano and after finally getting through to Customer Services today they said they don't have any back issues available. I know you can only guarantee to see every issue if you buy a subscription, so maybe I am BU, but it does seem a bit daft to write to a child, telling them to "buy loads of copies", but writing so tardily that it's a physical impossibility!!

Anyone else had a similar experience with them?

If you go into a local newsagents I'm sure they can order back issues from Menzies. Worth asking.

Well Done to your DS. I had a picture published on the back bags when i was lit toe. Was a very bad scribble of gnasher. If there is nothing on ebay now, you should wait a week as a lot of people list multiple magazines in one go, so all januarys together.
