To give up on cotbed so soon?

My ds went into his own room last night. He slept ok - waking at 1:30 & 4:30 for feeds then waking up for good at 5:30. Tonight he seems to be waking every 2 hours. This is very unlike him - he hasn't done it since being a couple of weeks old. Do I persist & it will get better as he gets more familiar with it? Or is it a sign it's too early & I should go back to Moses basket? He's 17 weeks. X

Pop him in moses in there for a couple of weeks?

DoJo · 15/01/2013 10:23

Not sure if one night is enough to be sure that there's a problem - I would probably give it another couple, but if he still fits in his moses basket and you want to put him back in it then just do it.

MrsMelons · 15/01/2013 10:26

Is he warn enough? I found that I had to put an extra layer on my DCs when they went in to the cot as it isn't as closed in as the Moses basket. Do you use sleeping bags?

Also like Loops said, you could put his Moses basket inside the cot to get him used to his own room.

oldraver · 15/01/2013 10:26

He's still very young, you could do many things...persevere, put the Moses Basket inside the cot then gradually move back into cot. Move him back into your room. One night isnt enough to go on really.

Don't they have a sleep regression thing at 17 weeks?

MrsMelons · 15/01/2013 10:27

warm not warn!

Oh yes, my nephew at 4 months had a bit of sleep regression but a month on he is sleeping much better.

ElphabaTheGreen · 15/01/2013 10:29

Yep - sounds like the four-month sleep regression more than anything else. Google it and weep. Plenty of moral support and fellow-sufferers on the forum if you want any advice. Not that there's anything you can do, unfortunately, other than ride it out...

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 15/01/2013 10:30

I always thought it was too much faf going into another room.in the night, so waoted til we had a week solid of sleeping through before we moved DD. Could you keep him in your room a bit longer?

ElphabaTheGreen · 15/01/2013 10:31

That should have said 'sleep forum'... link fail.
